“Was very pleased”
Reviewed 6 August 2010

We had a king room with a mini bar area, desk, etc. At check-in, we asked for and received a room overlooking the river. I found the modern room to be very comfortable and the location just right for what we needed. The staff was very friendly.

If you read the reviews, you will notice that people complain about the small size of the rooms and rightfully so. Not a lot of room to move around in there. When we arrived, they informed us the pool was being remodeled. We were NOT happy to hear that. They told us we could use the pool at the Rivercenter but of course, we would have to pay the parking fee over there. I asked the Manager for a better answer and was informed we could use the location at the Market Square and not pay parking. We went there but, still a hassle and not convienent. We did a lot of sight-seeing so we paid the steep price for the valet service. If you are going to hang on the river, I suggest you skip the valet and park it yourself. The valet garage cannot hold more than two vehicles so you may end up waiting a bit. The entrance to the Riverwalk is fairly new and you are not too far from the resturants. A little over- priced for me. Will not stay there again due to the small rooms.

I just returned from a long weekend stay at this location. I had requested early check-in and they delivered for all three rooms we reserved. The check-in staff was courteous and was even able to provide adjoining rooms..On a side note, some people may be taken back by the valet charge ($25/day) but the fee is similar too other hotels in the area..Self park facilities are available for a lower rate but they do not offer in and out privileges and are located 2-3 blocks from the hotel...All things considered the valet provides the best value. The rooms we had were all furnished with double queen beds, LCD TV, and desk and mini fridge. While not overly large they are modern and comfortable..The swimming pool is rather small but ok for children to cool off on a hot summer day. The hotel does have an outdoor seating area to enjoy a morning coffee (starbucks on site), or an evening beverage. The hotel location on the riverwalk is excellent. Within a one to two block radius you have multiple local and chain eateries and pubs.. In addition, the historic Alamo site as well as the local market are also easily within walking distance. I was completely satisfied with my stay at this location.

The hotel room was quiet and had a balcony. There was a Starbucks in the lobby - very convenient. Great pool to cool off in - foam in hot tub was questionable. Stayed for two nights at hotel and used the valet service. When car was returned there was damage and valet service will not claim fault. Which is ridiculous considering you pay $25 a night. Do you self a service and self park your car.

My wife and I stayed at the Courtyard Riverwalk for two nights during our Texas road trip in March and stayed over Friday and Saturday nights during the St Patrick's Day weekend. Given that San Antonio was very busy due to the festivities, the hotel proved to be a little oasis from the busy crowds outside.

As other contributors have said, nightly valet parking costs $25 but you can park the car and forget about it for the duration of your stay as the downtown area can be easily covered on foot or by water taxi. In comparison to other major US cities (San Fran for example), $25 a night really isn't too bad and at least websites like this mean that it isn't a suprise when you check out!

The location is excellent; just 100 yrds from the start of the Riverwalk proper. This means that you are very close to the nightlife and restaurants. Be aware that the hotel itself does not have a full restaurant, but it does has a Cafe that can provide lighter dishes, Starbuck's coffee and has a reasonable bar.

The room was very comfortable, quiet and had a balcony view of the River (available at a premium). The hotel has a very modern feel and the decor reflects this, but it suited the overall style of the hotel. The bathroom was a good size, with both shower and bath.

The check-in and out experience was faultless; starting and concluding a very enjoyable stay in San Antonio.

My husband and I loved this hotel! We were a bit wary about staying in a courtyard but this exceeded my expectations. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and very comfortable...one of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed in! Everything was spotless. Bathrooms were very clean and modern. The view was spectacular. We were on a higher level floor with a terrace facing the riverwalk. Very quiet and a helpful staff that was very eager to please. The only issues I had was with parking, the pool (way too small but I don't swim) and the long walk from the elevator to our specific room (which I didn't mind but for some people, it's kind of far). Just to warn you, parking is valet only (unless you want to pay for a parking garage but no in-and-out privileges) I believe it was $26 a day. But do call 20 min ahead before leaving the hotel or you will be waiting in lobby awhile for your car. Other than that loved everything! San Antonio is a great place to visit.

This Courtyard was just ok. I've stayed at many better ones, and a few not as good. The rooms are small, but adequate for two. The business center was small and always crowded, so bring your laptop. No on site parking, and valet parking is very expensive at all downtown San Antonio hotels. The best thing going for this Courtyard is its location right on the Riverwalk, a short walk from Alamo Square and all the other downtown San Antonio venues.
