WE stayed here for 2 nights and thought this hotel was fantastic for the price. It was just a short walk to the Riverwalk. Our room was modern, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was better than most places. They had eggs, ham , hash browns, fresh fruit, and blueberry waffles. They had a wine tasting in the evening with snacks and some delicious wine and beer. Georgia, the hostess for breakfast and wine tasting was just a delight. I wish all hotels had someone like this to greet customers. The owner of the Hotel, a sweet lady, also came around to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. I'm sure there are fancier hotels in San Antonio but this place puts them all to shame with its friendliness and extra perks to its customers. We would stay her again.

The hotel is walking distance from the Alamo and the river walk. It is a 15 minute walk through non-scenic parts of San Antonio.
The room was very large and well appointed. The cooling unit was very loud and not very efficient e.g. it runs all the time just to keep the room comfortable.
There is no room safe, and the safe at the front desk is not big enough to store a laptop.
The complimentary breakfast was acceptable.
You will pay for parking although they will not tell you until you see the bill on you last morning. There is limited street parking.

Well, the name implies that the hotel is on the Riverwalk...it is not! Simply be prepared to sign up for and take the hotel shuttle to the Riverwalk and the yellow route San Antonio trolley back to the hotel. However, the hotel is really lovely and we enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are fabulous and quite large. The breakfast is above average with a terrific variety. The kids enjoyed the small heated pool on two occasions. Tuesday-Thursday there is a social hour from 5-7 with beers, wines and snacks and the very pleasant owner makes rounds inquiring about your stay. The front desk staff is probably the friendliest I have ever met and will go out of their way to accomodate every need! If I didnt want to actually be on the Riverwalk (ie $$$) I would most certainly stay here again....great choice!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while he was in town for business. It is in a good location, about a ten minute walk from the Riverwalk which I walked every day alone and did not find unsafe. The hotel has a free shuttle to drop people off at popular attractions.

We stayed in room 420. The room came with a tv, microwave, coffee maker, and dvd player. We had a view of the Tower of the Americas, which was nice.

They had a managers reception Tues, Wed, and Thurs. The hostess, Georgia Rios, was very friendly. Different food was served each night- chicken wings, egg rolls, taquitos. They also served beer and wine. This was a nice touch.

They had a continental breakfast each morning which was nice. It consisted of cereal, pastries, eggs, meat, bread, yogurt, waffles, coffee, juice and a few other items. This saved us a lot of money as well and was very nice.

I went down to the pool as well as over to the Riverwalk. The pool and hot tub is small but really beautiful with nice lounge chairs to hang out at.

We had a great time here and would defiintely consider staying here again. I realized before coming that this is a comfort suites so basically a 3 star hotel. My expectations reflected that and this hotel definitely exceeded those expectations. It is the best comfort suites I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: We saved money by bringing food to heat up in the microwave in the room. We also brought our own bo...

Our family stayed at Comfort Suites Alamo/Riverwalk for 4 nights, March 7-11, 2012 and were thoroughly impressed with the hotel, staff, ammenities, food and service. Our daughter attended a medical conference and we were along for fun, Our little grandson, Alex, age 3 was treated very well and he enjoyed the attention by your staff that he received.
Our rooms, connecting, were well appointed, clean and spacious. Staff was freindly and helpful and the breakfast and evening cocktails were wonderful. Della Martinez, Sales and Marketing was most friendly and helpful and we got to chat with her. Georgia Rios, Hostess went above and beyond, So friendly, so helpful, so hard-working. We enjoyed getting to know here.
Hilton and Hyatt don't even compare to this property for service and value. We definitely recommend and would stay here again, as location is excellent and service beyond compare.

Room Tip: Connecting rooms for a family are great.

Are overall experience was very good. The whole staff was very helpful. Georgia Rios your breakfast hostess was EXCELLENT! She greeted everyone she came in contract with that entered her kitchen/eating area. Both areas were very neat and clean. With the amount of people that were entering the breakfast area it would have been easy for the whole area to be out of control, however Georgia kept it under control, organized and the food coming. She is an asset to your location.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights based on the good reviews at TripAdvisor. We were sorely disappointed. Although this hotel offers a wine/beer & snack reception Tuesdays through Thursdays, that is an added bonus, the attention to basic details was apparent at every turn. The clock in our room was not set to the proper time. When I called the front desk, no one could tell me how to set it myself. They said someone would be up to do it but no one ever came. My husband finally figured it out himself. Most every time that I went to the front desk, no one was around and it took awhile to rouse someone. The business center computers were painfully slow to the point where the local radar would not come up and I finally gave up on it. One day we got back to our room after the maid service to find the sink with brown spots from an apparent coffee pot dump and the coffee pot had not been cleared of spent coffee grounds. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
