“Skip the barge, ride the water taxi”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

We signed up for the barge trip first. While it was interesting, it's packed, and only goes around the downtown section of the river.
We then bought the 24-hr on and off at will ticket for the Water Taxi. We really enjoyed it! Takes you north, through a lock, all the way up the river. The Water Taxi drivers gave us more information than the barge trip. The newer section of the Riverwalk passes several museums - all of which have a Water Taxi stop. The Taxis run from 9 am to 9 pm. We bought our ticket at 11 am, and it was good until 11 am the next day. So, we were able to take the Water Taxi the following morning to the area we wanted to spend the day. We got on and off at least a dozen times.

“One of your San Antonio MUST SEES”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

The San Antonio River Walk is located in downtown San Antonio. The boat ride is a good investment if you don't have a lot of time or can't walk the walk. Getting to the River Walk may be somewhat of a challenge for those with limited mobility, but several buildings along the river have elevators that will take you to the river level. Visit the area during the day and at night to enjoy the views and people watching. The lights are especially spectacular during the Christmas season. There are better places to eat in San Antonio, but the River Walk should definitely be on your bucket list.

“City planning at its best”
Reviewed 13 November 2013 via mobile

Everytime we visit SA we of course either stay in one of the hotels on the riverwalk or visit it. Lots of restaurants and some tourist shops. The best part is strolling the riverwalk. You can do a guided boat tour or meander on your own. Because its a tree lined river the temp is always cooler there than at street-level. There are helpful Riverwalk staffers to point u the right way.

“Tourist trap- beware inflated prices!”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

Sorry, I was born in San Antonio and I love it, but the Riverwalk eating and trinket shops are over priced. So tourist beware! there are some nicer places to eat NOT on the riverwalk, because if you really want to watch the river flow, you'll pay more for that taco!
