The short movie was good. Take the time to see it. We enjoyed this museum very much. By the time you leave you will have a good understanding of the Alamo history.

The long barracks museum is a part of the Alamo history. The 15 Minute film made by the History channel is far better than the IMac film which is across the road.

At least you can learn a bit of history even though some of it is not unbiased and accurate. The video though should be avoided at all costs. I thought advanced countries didn't rose up their own history like that anymore, but I was proven wrong once again.

This is really a must see before visiting the Alamo. Most people skip this but are missing a huge piece of the story. There is an excellent 15 minute film done by the history channel. It gives you the background of the battle and explains the artifacts. Take the time to do this part and you won't be sorry.

The Long Barracks has its own interesting history as part of the Alamo saga, and should not be overlooked in your hurry to get into the main attraction of Alamo Plaza. I'd recommend starting your visit to the Alamo here, particularly with the fifteen-minute film, before heading for that line into the Alamo itself. You will understand much more of what you will be seeing inside the Alamo by making this your first stop.
