Stayed at this hotel for four nights in March. We have traveled extensively through the United States and Europe and can completely agree with the reviews. This hotel is the best that we have ever stayed at. The "kick back" is wonderful as is the breakfast buffet. All of the employees that we encountered were delightful and there to completely please the hotel quests. I wish that there were more of Drury Hotels based in the United States. We would stay at them all of the time that we traveled.

Room Tip: In the Alamo tower were the older rooms in the refurbished bank building, The San Fernando tower is...

I spent just one night at this hotel while visiting San Antonio with my mother and aunt. I typically prefer more boutique-style hotels, but this is a good hotel choice in a great location right on the Riverwalk. It is very popular with tour groups, and while we were there several large bus loads were arriving and departing. This isn't a negative necessarily - the other guests we encountered were lovely - but it did mean that the breakfast area was very very crowded in the morning. We were out at the time of the evening "kickback", so I'm not sure what the crowd was like at that time.

Our room was a little dated, but very clean for the most part. The furniture in the sitting area was somewhat worn in spots, but otherwise comfortable. As others have noted, the bathrooms are small. There is also very little water pressure and the bath towels and washcloths were very thin. The best feature of the room was the huge balcony overlooking the river. Despite the location, it was quiet enough for sleeping. Sleeping was difficult though due to the way too soft mattress and flat pillow, but each is really a matter of personal preferece. (I also noticed a stain the bed sheets, but those are the types of things I notice.)

Overall, I think this hotel provides a good value for the price, especially for families who need more space and can appreciate the free food. If I were visiting with my husband, and wanted something romantic, I would stay elsewhere though.

This hotel was the best place we could of picked. Getting two rooms one ADN and next to each other was important and they made it happen. Location is great for many things to do with in walking distance. Even a walgreens. All the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

This hotel is by far the best that we have ever stayed at!! Excellent staff and beautiful surroundings right on the Riverwalk! Our room overlooked the river and was great! Our room was spacious and the bed was plush!! Lisa at the front desk was an absolute delight! She made us feel so welcome. We stayed for several nights and enjoyed the "5:30 Kickback" evening meal with 3 free drinks included! This is the first hotel that we have ever stayed at that includes the drinks free! WOW!! Loved it and so did everyone in our group of 38. We will be back!

Room Tip: Try for the rooms overlooking the Riverwalk!! The Texas Land and Cattle restaurant on the Riverwalk...

Excellent welcome, and quality "free extras" as they like to say. The room was spacious and clean, and offered a great western view. It was a walk to the room in the attached tower, but it was worth it each day. I would definitely stay at this location next time I am in San Antonio.

Room Tip: See if you can get a room in the other tower. It is a hike, but it offers western views.

We are regular users of Drury Hotels and this one was the best we had stayed in. The staff were extremely pleasant and the front desk staff, Chris and the lady who works with him, (sorry forgot your name) were a credit. Although it was self park at$16 a day I thought it was well worth the money. The hotel lower door takes you straight onto the river walk. We asked for a balcony and arrangements were made for us to move into one the following day, even one of the maids came to our room with a trolley to help us move. Well done Drury.

I just got back from Spring Break with 3 of my girlfriends and we stayed at the Drury Inn &Suites on the Riverwalk for 5 days. Besides a couple of bumps in the road we were very happy our choice of hotel. To start off the staff was friendly, unfortunately they were a bit unknowledgeable about the area, cabs, and activities. It also took almost the entire day for our room to be cleaned and made up (one night we got back at 4:30pm and it still wasn't done and I had to request they come at 7pm). The breakfast was a great buffet (included in the price), I just wish they had gluten free options and healthier option (maybe less carbs). We only had the evening snack twice but both times it was a good energy boost. The room was a perfect size for the 4 of us and we even had enough room for all of our clothing. We had a second floor room with a riverwalk view and our favorite part of the hotel was the proximity to the rest of downtown San Antonio.
We went to the pool in the morning one of the days and were relieved when we tried the water and it was warm. The only problem with the pool was that the towels were meant more for children. We loved the security. In order to get into the building you had to swipe your room key.

Another bonus that we found out about on our last day from a Riverwalk tour was that the building had historical significance. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a convenient location and clean atmosphere to stay on the River Walk. If you need activity information just head to the concierge at the Marriott next door.

Room Tip: Request the river walk
