“Great location, great price!”
Reviewed 11 November 2010

The Drury Inn is a great place to stay on the River Walk for a reasonable price. Plus they serve free hot breakfast & have a happy hour each evening too. We'd definitely stay here & at other Drury Inn's again.
The hotel is a little dated but nothing too bad. You do have to pay for parking ($14/day on the week days & $15/day on the weekends) seems a little pricey but it is right on the River Walk.
Breakfast did not start until 7:00 on Saturday which was a little late for us since we needed to be on the road at 7:15 but we made it work.

This is the second time we stayed at the Drury Hotel in San Antonio. I believe this time the room we had was better than the last time. They must of remodeled the rooms since our last stay. The hotel was clean and it's right on the riverwalk. There's a restaurant downstairs but we didn't dine there so I can't rate it. They had a happy hour in the evening with snacks and the breakfast is better than average. The staff will bend over backwards to help you and they are always friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds comforable. The only downside is you have to pay for parking. We would difinitely stay there again.

Let me preface this review by saying that the staff was very polite and nice. The rooms were clean, if a little dark. They could benefit by some more lighting.
I checked out early because of the street noise. There is a train that comes every 30 minutes or so and you can hear the horn for about 5 minutes. I live in the city, so I'm used to a certain amount of ambient noise when I sleep. This was intolerable. And it's ALL night long. Additionally, the windows provided no buffer to the street noise and I could actually hear the walk indicator beeping that it was changing to don't walk. I called the front desk, who couldn't move my room but did supply ear plugs. Yep, I slept with some ear plugs in. I checked out immediately the next morning and moved to La Quinta. Signed, Over-Tired and Cranky.

We were more than pleased with the nice large room, and nice furnishings. We had a king deluxe room with a sofa. Although it was not two separate rooms, it was designed with a sleeping area, a sitting area with a sofa, recliner, and club chair, and two dressing areas. There were two flat screen TV's, and two closets. The room was quite comfortable and inviting.

The location was right on the Riverwalk which had its pros and cons. You just pushed the Riverwalk button on the elevator and walked out, which was most convenient. However, the noise from the partying at night and all the buses, garbage trucks, and street sweepers made me think I was in the middle of NYC. Although the bed was heavenly, sleeping was quite difficult with all the noise. Our room was was on the corner next to the street which overlooked the bus stop. I didn't know one city had so many buses! Perhaps the rooms that don't face the street are quieter. Of course, this is no fault of the hotel. It is the price you pay for the excellent location.

The great rooms, free food and drinks, free internet, free long distance calls, and Riverwalk location make this an excellent choice. Parking was $14 a day, but you could park just outside the door of your floor in the parking garage. This was great! It made it so easy to load and unload. Just make sure you have the address of the hotel handy as you are driving in. The GPS had difficulty locating the enterance to the garage.

This hotel was right on the riverwalk, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We loved the full breakfast each morning--saved us money on another meal. We also enjoyed the free cokes and popcorn in the afternoon, especially our children. Would definitly stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for a combination of business and pleasure. My husband attended a conference at a hotel near the convention center. I accompanied him to San Antonio and we decided to book this hotel, away from the conference site, based on positive tripadvisor reviews
The hotel is older and could use with some updating, but it was spotless. We had a two room suite, with 2 double beds, a kitchenette and 2 large flat screen TVs - one in each room. It is located right on Riverwalk, which makes it very pleasant to walk around - out of the San Antonio sun. There is a very compact l fitness center and a small pool on the roof. The included "extras" are incredible. The breakfast was like nothing I have ever see - make your own waffles, sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, French tost, sweet rolls, donuts, bagels, cereals - hot and cold, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice - and you could have as much as you want. At "happy hour", you had a ticket which allowed you 3 alcoholic drinks per person which included wine, beer and mixed drinks. The hors d'oeuors included baked potatoes, cheese sauce, chicken fingers, salad, hot dogs, chips and salsa - among other items. There were families with young children who were making this their evening meal.
Also included in the price was free internet connection - for your computer or you could use one of theirs in the business center, as well as one hour of free long distance calls.
We had a view of Riverwalk and our room was very quiet. If I ever return to San Antonio I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The staff was very friendly - especially the woman who was in charge of the breakfast buffet.. The location is the best and it is an outstanding value.

Booked this hotel based on tripadvisor ratings. Right before leaving I read some so so reviews so I was worried. When we checked in our room was ready, we were early. The clerks at the front desk were extremely helpful. We received a phone call asking us if everything was okay from the clerk who checked us in. This happened within 10 minutes of our arrival at the room. That has never happened to me before. We were in a balcony room with a downtown view. Upon looking out we saw the tops of downtown buildings, but we were overlooking a rooftop of a building being renovated. We were okay with that since we weren't going to spent much time in the room. However at night with the lights, it was very nice sitting on the balcony and unwinding. It actually had a nice ambiance with the lights. We even took our drinks in cups up to the room from happy hour and drank them in the evening. When we looked down we could see the boats on the Riverwalk below. As stated by others you walk right out on the Riverwalk and it didn't take long to walk to any of the hot spots. It was within walking distance for us to the Alamo as well. The staff at the happy hour as well as breakfast were so extremely pleasant and service oriented I was thoroughly impressed. We pretty much used the hotel for dinner each night because of the food. Just finger food though, nothing fancy. Breakfast was good. As for parking prices $14 was a bargain to be right at the hotel. I am 30 minutes outside of Chicago where parking can cost $50 per night at a hotel. The room had a comfortable bed and was clean. While it wasn't extremely large, it was more than ample for 2 people. Would definitely stay there again, couldn't beat the price. We only paid $103 per night and that was booking thru the Drury.
