Very well located across the street from the Alamo. Walking distance to river walk and downtown San Antonio. Eleventh floor Room showed much attention to detail as regards walls and tile, was very well painted, very clean and the gargoyles decorating the building exterior were visible from our room. Something about the tub shower that wasn't quite what I was accustomed to. Room service food was outstanding. Eggs cooked EXACTLY as ordered and went very well with the just right black beans that I ordered because grits were not on the menu. The black bean alternative was great, even better than grits. Prices were good for room service. Don't go out the exit door for a better view unless you tell someone because you will be stuck with using the fire escape down to the 4th floor. Where to park was confusing and probably expensive and street parking meters are monitored very closely by the city.

We loved the historic architecture (though the room decor did not reflect the building's history), the very helpful staff and convenient location to the riverwalk and Alamo. We had our mid-size dog with us and the staff welcomed his good behavior in the lobby. They also did a great job of recommending restaurants and places to see.

The hotel is older but totally redone. Very clean and pleasant. It's a bit odd pulling up to the curb on the street to do the luggage unload as there is no covered unload zone but the valet staff was very efficient and friendly. Great location, not too close to the riverwalk but close enough to walk to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

The Emily Morgan in San Antonio was the best experience. First we are next to the Alamo, which for history buffs is an amazing site. Second, we are minutes from the Riverwalk, another great place to visit. Third, because I was at a convention, I was minutes from the Gonzalez Convention center. We parked our car and walked everywhere. We restauranted in the Oro every morning for breakfast, which was delicious and attractive. The fruit was fresh, the eggs, potatoes, french toast all freshly made. Our room was excellent. We were in a corner, so we had 2 walls of windows and 2 regular walls. The night view and the day view were lovely. The room was spacious and well appointed. When we needed a blanket, it was delivered in less than 10 minutes. Our heat needed adjusting and voila….it was done in less than 10 minutes. The service, starting with the front desk personnel, Ginger, who helped us was excellent. I felt very special at the Emily Morgan. It was quiet despite the fact that it is near busy landmarks. The elevators were fast, smooth and prompt. We did have a false "fire" alarm one morning at 7 am, but it was quickly handled and we returned within minutes of being told it was a "false" alarm. I love this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there or recommend it to my family and friends. The price which included the $28.00 per day parking (typical for downtown San Antonio hotels) and breakfast for 2 adults was fair for what we received. Make a reservation here and you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: I would ask for as high up as possible because it helps with traffic noise. Walls are insulated well, you cannot hear every little thing from your neighbors.

Clean, well appointed room overlooking The Alamo. I left my laptop in the lobby when leaving; the staff secured it and shipped it to my home. We were very pleased even before the laptop was returned. Great visit!
