“Best place to stay for BMT Graduation!”
Reviewed 16 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here with my in-laws for my brother in-laws BMT graduation! Our stay here was great and I would say that there was nothing this hotel could of done to make our stay better!

They say breakfast starts at 6:30am but we were up very early in order to get to the events on base and we were able to eat breakfast as early as 5:30am on Wednesday and Thursday. Breakfast was very good and included bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, fruit and great tasting waffles!

Internet is very fast and had no problems getting connected with the wifi. At times we had 6 devices connected to the wifi and worked great.

Location of this hotel is perfect! Only takes a few minutes to get to Lackland AFB! This came in extremely handy when trying to get to the events for graduation that start at 7:00am!

This was a very clean, modern hotel and would recommend it for anyone who is coming into town for BMT Graduation at Lackland AFB!

This hotel was perfect for our stay in San Antonio for the Airforce Graduation week, and the services were excellent. The daily breakfast was great, and the bathrooms in each room were spacious. The beds were very comfortable, but more importantly the hotel was clean and well maintained, and the staff were able to provide directions and recommendations to popular spots nearby. I would gladly stay here again.

We stayed at the Best Western Atrea the end of Nov. 2011. The hotel is pretty new. It is very clean, and the rooms were spacious, and modern. The staff was polite and helpful. I had a package delivered there the day before I arrived and they called me when they received it. We were looking for a hotel near Lackland Airforce Base, as my son was graduating. This hotel is VERY convenient to the base. It was only a little only a mile from the Valley High gate which is the only gate that is open 24 hours, and close to the sqaudrons. They also have an indoor pool which is a plus. I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. There were other hotels fairly close to this one, and were a little lower priced, but I spoke to various people that were not as happy with their accomodations. just an FYI. In the ammenities it states there is a lounge on site, and this is true. But, it is open limited hours on select days. The hotel is within a 15 minute drive of downtown. Make sure you take a navigation device though. Getting around San Antonio can be a little challenging.

This hotel was the nicest in this area if you are looking for a great location, close to Lackland AFB. It was clean and included breakfast each morning. The gps will take you the long way to Lackland and so will googlemaps, so disregard their info. When exiting the hotel, make a right onto Crooked Trail and go down to the divided entrance/exit that is on your left that puts you onto the access road. Make a right onto the access road and go to the first light. Make a left onto Valley Hi drive and it will take you straight to the main visitors gate at Lackland.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the stairs will be quieter. People were going in and out of the stairway and the doo...

My family recently stayed here in 3 rooms for my brother's graduation from the Air Force. The location was great and the staff took care of everything we needed during our stay. Upon entering, you would think the hotel was brand new, not a couple of years old. Great amenities here too, including an indoor pool and hot tub, lobby bar, continental breakfast, and free wi-fi. Our king room was quite large and had everything we could have wanted. LOTS of storage space in our room, which made it nice to not live out of our suitcase. The bathroom was large and had plenty of room without feeling cramped. We left for base really early each morning and though we would miss breakfast, but the staff knew most guests would be leaving early so they seemed to always have the food ready before the posted time so we could grab a bite to eat on the way out.

The only complaint I would have (and it's nothing major at all) is that the pool has a cool waterfall feature, but can only be used from sometime between 9am-2pm based on what the front desk staff said because of when maintenance would be there. They also mentioned that they don't like to run it because it messes up the chemicals in the pool. It would've been nice to come back from being out in the heat all day and just relax under the waterfall. Possibly put a timer switch on it similar to how a hot tub would run may help.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here before any other hotel near base in the future.

As a flight attendant I stay in a lot of hotels and this is a nice place to stay. This Best Western was clean, comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. Wish they had an outside pool instead of just a small indoor pool. It is close to the base but is a little tricky to find. I highly recommened this place for visitors to the AFB.

Nice new hotel. The staff was nice but when we checked in there was only one young women working and she was swamped. Nicer part of town but your GPS will throw you off by about a 1/4 of a mile. The room was very nice but the wireless internet was very bad. There are several hot spots that you can connect to which makes things better but they would drop me frequently. The breakfast was good and not crowded. I would suggest calling the hotel direct if going for Air Force BMT graduation. They offer a pretty good discount over the booking sites. We saved about $60 for the three day stay. Very close to the base. Only about a 5 minute drive without traffic. Overall, a good choice. Another review stated about their car being vandalized. Our car was un-touched. We had to give them our license plate number for the security staff. Maybe since that review they've contracted a security firm?
