Our high school band stayed at the hotel on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. One of our band directors had worked with the event planner to put together what we thought would be an outstanding stay. However, we were disappointed and frustrated beyond words.

Upon arrival, we discovered that the hotel had been overbooked and some of our students didn't even have rooms. (Keep in mind our reservations were in place since January). Two of our band directors and our chaperone lead spent three hours at the front desk resolving the issue. It wasn't until the very end of this discussion that hotel management even got involved in the process. In addition we were promised two special events - the ability to make s'mores over the fire pits outside and a movie night on Saturday.

Throughout the three hour "negotiation", they basically told us that the s'mores would cost three dollars per student. I was flabbergasted! In addition, they were well aware of the number of students who would be staying (200) and on movie night they gave us a room with a maximum capacity of 100.

I understand when people hear a group of high school kids are coming to the hotel, there is an audible groan about the prospect of what to expect. But I can assure you, our kids travel every year to a variety of places and we consistently get compliments on how well behaved and respectful they are.

Too bad the Radisson personnel haven't learned that lesson!

Had two rooms booked for the 12th and 13th of April, 2008.
We arrived at 11.30am having just flown in from Connecticut. We encountered a very unhelpful reception desk staff whose only statement to us was "check in is after 3:00 pm". She did not smile, was clearly disinterested and did not even make a show of looking for our reservation.I fully understand their policy and need for it but everywhere else I have been to the staff has been hopeful, apologetic. At times we have been given keys but advised the room would not be ready, or given offers to store baggage, suggestions on where to go in the meantime...whatever, but not a stony faced stare. We returned at 4:00 pm and there was a different person at the front desk. He quickly informed us that rooms with double beds were not available but did get us room across from each other. When we got to the second floor we were shocked at the state of the corridor. The walls were well worn and had patches that were primed but no other evidence that renovations were being undertaken. The owners of this property have clearly taken their profits and not put anything back into keeping it well maintained. The carpet was well worn, the corridor was not well lit and dingy. We called down for a cot and it was delivered within 5 mins. ($10.00 charge per day...that is tacky). The place bills itself as a resort but we could not find anything that qualified this hotel as one. The pool(s) is small and nothing to brag about. Rooms were worn but quiet with good hot water showers. The video checkout would not allow us to check out so we had to do it the old fashioned way.Our recommendations (1)new management needed(2)focus on customer service.
I am told the Hyatt next door is much nicer...wish we had stayed there

We decided to stay here versus the Hyatt Hill Country Resort since it cost half as much, and since we never stayed here before it was worth checking out. Not sure why they call this a resort since it did not have a golf course, and right behind the pool was a new single-family housing development. It has been a while since I stayed at a Radisson hotel and considered them as a trucker’s hotel. But this Radisson impressed me very much.

The check-in staff was very courteous and helpful and the lobby was a resort style layout similar of what we experienced in Hawaii. The bar/restaurant was position in the lobby and opened up in to the back courtyard where there was plenty of sitting space around plants and small fire pits. The pool area was situated behind the courtyard. Radisson should have purchased the land behind the hotel. The interior of the hotel was decorated very nice (no truckers staying here). At night the fire pits were lighted and a projection TV showed EPSN on one of the building walls in the courtyard – very nice. We had a free shuttle service to Sea World.

This is not a luxury hotel so do not expect the extra treatment. We parked our own car for it was not reason not to valet it. I think you could valet it for I saw parts of the parking lot roped off. We also carried our own bags (two) and did not have anyone help us or take our bags to our room. This was fine for us. The hotel was undergoing an interior renovation as you could tell in the hallways, but during the Final Four weekend they stopped so we did not have any construction noise.

All the areas of the hotel were nicely decorated, but our room was dated and worn. I hope the rooms get a fresh makeover. The bathroom was superb. We had marble countertops, two sinks, big Jacuzzi bathtub (with jets) and a nice (small) separate shower. We stayed in a single bedroom suite where the bedroom and sitting area was closed off by double doors. It has a small couch, 2 TVs, bar (sink and small refrigerator), and balcony. It did not have refrigerator stocked with snacks to purchase. The balcony had a nice view of the roof of the hotel and air-conditioning unit where it could have kept us up all night (the sound was noticeable) but since we were tired from attending the basketball games we slept through it.

The water is hard, so use shampoo conditioner. Some luxury hotels use a water filtration and softener for their guests, but not this one. The icemaker and soda machine are not in a closed room, so do not stay in a room near it for you will not be able to sleep. Luckily we were on the other side of the building.

We had no problem checking out. I booked this room directly through the hotel website and signed up for their rewards program. Hotels tend to like this for sometimes you get special treatment. Otherwise our stay was ok.

I selected a three star hotel on priceline and was automatically upgraded to resort and was given this hotel. On check in was told that since we booked on priceline, they would not give us a room with two double beds. They only have a chair in the room and not even a sofa. Would not provide roll out bed or crib but insisted we pay extra for the two double beds even though the hotel was half empty. We were told we should not have booked on priceline. Why does this hotel participate in priceline if they are going to penalize customers who book through them. They insisted we pay the extra since we got a deal on priceline. Just a hint to management....that is why people book on priceline. We got the Hyatt on the riverwalk on hotwire and they gave us a room with two beds and a free upgrade to alamo view. If you are paying full price, the Hyatt Hill Country Resort which we also stayed in had incredible service and amenities compared to the Raddison for similar price. I should say the rooms were fairly nice with large bathrooms though room and towels showing signs of age.

Stayed here for 3 days with 2 kids age 6 and 5. This place is good for kids but the pool is just ok and older kids would be bored quickly. We were very dissapointed with the pool. Its small and not much to do there. Upkeep of the pool was just average. The towels provided at the pool are a joke and can best be described as big hand towels. They have a bee problem at the pool and you will attract a swarm if you get a sweet drink! Night time activities for the kids were great and they loved it. But plan other activities during the day like Sea World etc. The rooms were ok but really starting to show wear. The beds were terrible and pillows were worse. The pull out couch was very worn and not very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and big in our one bedroom suite. But had some maintenence issues. The shower has a shower head and rainfall shower head on the ceiling. Our reg. shower head sprayed water all over the place and was useless so we had to use only the rainfall head which was ok but a pain to have water falling on you and no room to get out of it. We had a package that included champagne, turn down service, free movie and champ. glasses. We never got the champ. and no turn down service or glasses. They took off $50 after we complained. they also charged for the movie but took it off the bills when we pointed it out. We had breakfast included which was average at best but the kids loved it. Service was spotty at all service areas.
Overall we had a good time but next time we will pay a little more and stay at the Hyatt or La Cantera.
