“Mixed feelings on this RV Park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2013

Seems that my review will be very similar to recent posts. First the good- the park was clean and well maintained. Especially enjoyed the big dog park. While registering we could smell pizza which we later read could be delivered directly to your RV door- now that is a perk. I agree the neighborhood seemed a little sketchy but once inside it was hard to tell that you were in the middle of town. Lots of huge trees and with being gated we felt very safe. The registration was not welcoming. The lady seemed to be somewhat robotic and not a very happy person. But we can deal with that. The most frustrating was the small pull through. We only have a 30 foot travel trailer but with slide outs it was impossible to keep the truck hooked to the truck because of the location of water and sewer. Asked to be moved but they could not happen for some reason. Would most likely stay here again if visiting San Antonio cause location for tourist activities would be great.

This KOA is in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood, but is gated and feels like you are in the woods and not in the middle of a major city. We stayed in one of the basic cabins. They were clean, affordable, and in good condition. The only negative I can think of is that the beds were very uncomfortable and hard. Other than that, this was a pretty nice place. The bathrooms were always clean and the staff seemed friendly. I would definitely stay here again if in the area, it is much cheaper than a hotel.

The registration was not welcoming and the site was quite small for our 35 foot RV and tow. Families with kids seemed to enjoy the pool and bike rentals. We did enjoy the Salado Creek walking/biking path for walks with our dog. It appears that the "residents" felt they could let their large dogs off leash throughout the RV grounds so we didn't always make it to the dog park with dogs running around loose and our dog being small and hesitant. The positive is that when we had trouble loading our car on the tow dolly the staff were very helpful and we really appreciated that.

My family recently spent several nights (3/13 - 3/17) at the KOA in San Antonio during the Spring Break rush.

Since we did not make reservations until the week before and have a long fifth-wheel with triple slides, we were worried about being able to secure a spot. However, the office staff was able to confirm a reservation for us. Everyone we spoke with was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the park. They asked pertinent questions and picked the best available spot for us out of the few that were available.

From the initial phone conversations until the time we pulled out of the park, the staff and facilities were top-notch. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive. If we ever had a question, we did not have to search for a staff person - they were out and about in the park throughout the day.

The facilities were great and the park was spotless. We really appreciated the gated park and the security patrols. We felt comfortable allowing our 9 year old son to explore the park on his own. The heated pool, expansive playground, and basketball court were a big hit with him.The bath houses were well kept and always clean. Our entire family enjoyed the walking and bike trail.

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at the San Antonio KOA and look forward to returning soon.

I recently stayed at this KOA. I was very impressed with the staff and cleanliness of the property. We rented a cabin without a restroom. I was a little nervous because the thought of sharing a bathroom seemed gross but was shocked to find the public bathrooms new, clean, and close to our cabin. We were visiting during spring break and even though the park was full the property was clean and quiet. It was a perfect way to spend our spring break! Will definitely visit again!

We had mixed emotions on making reservations for this KOA but glad we did! For a KOA the sites were spacious with shade. They are pretty level with packed gravel. The sites have above ground grills with no fire puts but that's ok we had our own. The pool was heated but we did not get in. Staff very friendly and it does have a K9 camp. There is some kind of black bird that sings so beautiful that hangs out here. There is a large playground but we don't have children. We took the city bus that takes you to the Alamo and brings you back. That's the only way to go. We saw the riverwalk also that way. Tomorrow we will catch it back then get on another bus to The Market. Sure beats paying the high price for parking.

This place is beautiful. There's staff everywhere, they escort you to your campsite, even in the winter months. The pool is heated, the bathrooms and showers spotless and everything is in fine working order. There's a dog playground, fully fenced, immaculate laundry room and very nice staff at the office. If we didn't have to get home we'd extend our 8 night stay to 1 month. The south side of SanAntonio is not the best, but there's a security gate and patrols. The river and little late is beautiful. We're here for the rodeo and there's a bus stop right across from the KOA gate to take us to the AT&T center. We'll be back!!!!
