We've been here for a few days now, and I have to say, this is a nice RV park. Nice that it has relatively spacious sites, and that it has "natural" green areas with grass and trees. What was not so nice, was that we pulled in here about an hour before check-in, and were told that we'd have to pay extra if we wanted to check in then - we hauled our 40' motorhome down the road to the fairgrounds and parked in their parking lot until it was time to check in. If our reserved site was empty at KOA would it have broke their backs to give it to us an hour early? Anyway, it seems like a good place to camp. We have two dogs and we pick up after them all the time - it seems that some of the folks here do not think that's necessary, which really pisses me off.
Why do you irresponsible so-and-so's have to spoil it for the rest of us dog people? Note that there is no fitness center for this park, but then I don't think there are for any KOA's.
I would recommend this KOA to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while exploring the San Antonio area.

After reading some of the reviews for this campground I was a bit concerned about my stay. My concerns were not warranted. I found the campground's location perfect for my planned activities (Spurs game and Alamo Bowl), clean, safe, and secure.

We took the RV and stayed at this KOA which is very close to the Riverwalk (about a 3 mile drive). The grounds are gorgeous - nice playground and they are updating the pool which I believe will be done in 2/14. The staff members are very friendly, and the little store is very nice and has a place where you can order some hot food items. The private bathrooms/ showering facilities are fabulous - very clean and well maintained. The public facilities were very nice as well, although we were a little surprised about a foul stench that seemed to be present the entire time we were there (2 nights). Not sure what it was but I wouldn't expect that to be an ongoing issue. I'm already looking forward to our next visit here!

One of the best KOA we have stayed at. The bathroom and laundry room are very clean. The wi fi internet works very well. We did not experience any road/train noise. The bus service downtown to the River Walk is very close by and the buses are very frequent. We rode our bikes on the path behind the park. We would recommend staying here!

A very well kept RV park and camp ground. Garbage collection cans a scatter around the park, BUT there is only ONE recycle collection point. IF you like the sound of a freight train whistle/horn in the distance at night while you try to sleep, this park is fine. You may want to bring ear plugs.

This campground offers all of the amenities necessary to make for a fun, pleasant stay. The RV sites were large, had nice gravel surfaces, and many offered a brick patio with picnic table. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean, as was the laundry room. There is a nice little store and snack bar offering hot food items (although neither are open very late). The playground is fairly large, and even though the equipment is old, the kids enjoy it a lot. We visited on a very cold fall week, so we did not take advantage of the summer activities, but there seem to be quite a few. There is a very convenient bus stop just in front of the campground that takes you directly to downtown and the Riverwalk. Highly recommend this. The downside of the campground is the area of town. While it's gated and secure, it is close to one of the less desirable areas of San Antonio so there is not much view. When taking the bus, get very clear directions on getting the bus back to the KOA. We took the wrong one and ended up in a pretty bad area of town waiting for a connection.

Nice shady RV park with level pull thru sites. It is a large campground with many amenities. They have a small grill that offers pizza, wings & hot breakfast items. Nice Laundry which is open 24 hours. They have one of the few pools that is open in October. Pool was very nice with built in kiddie pools. There is a bus stop across from the campground which we used to get to River Walk & the Alamo. They have wifi & cable. I was only able to pick up wifi near the office. Bathrooms were very clean but had an odor while we were here. Not sure why because it was very clean each time I used the showers. The lady in the office was great. She ran the office & prepared our food. I would stay here again, overall it is a nice campground.
