After hearing great things about Laurent's we met friends there for dinner last month. We all had the Prix Fixe menu. We found the food to be consistently good and beautifully plated, but a tad disappointing in taste, particularly given word of mouth comments. Need to go again and get more experience with their food.

By accident we found this charming restaurant. lovely french bistro in the heart of Olmos Park.
they have a prix menu for the early birds and a full menu for the later crowd. Delighted the find they are also open for lunch during the week. The front has darkened glass to protect from the west sun so it is hard to tell if the restaurant is open. Don't let that fool you. (Try the door)
The service is wonderful, there when you need or want them but they do not hover.
Nice selection of wines and the food was delicious, Tuna tartar, sweetbreads wellington our choices for starters, mixed green salad with fig and fog cheese next and new york Strip and Sea Scollops for main course. Couldn't pass on dessert which we chose a Bavarian Cream.
Couldnt have been better. Yes it is in the $$$ range but worth it.

Chef-driven, small, very personal bistros abound in France but are few and far between in our neck of the woods, so how wonderful to have such a restaurant now in our midst. We have been three times now and have loved each evening there.

The menu is well thought out with appetizer, main course, and dessert selections designed to please everyone and everything, including the soup, salad, and bread is prepared with care and attention to detail. Actually, that's an understatement! If you enjoy expertly prepared food with flavors combined masterfully to enhance the ingredients, look no further - this is your kind of place!

The atmosphere is relaxed, the waitstaff friendly and professional. Soft lighting flatters, and unobtrusive background music doesn't interfere with conversation, (which in our case is frequently punctuated with remarks such as "Oh my gosh! This is amazing!" as the meal unfolds!).

This is a place definitely worthy of dressing up a bit, yet we have noticed casually dressed diners, as well. In the cuisine scheme of things, though, what really matters is the food, of course. Be ready to appreciate a brilliant, exquisitely prepared meal first and foremost. For culinary creativity, this is the finest restaurant in San Antonio.

We anticipate many more return visits!

I was hesitant to go to this restaurant because of the set Prix Fix. Any doubts have been erased. Even within the Prix Fix menu there are selections for many tastes. This is a superb restaurant; the décor is very nice modern with rich dark tones but not extreme in any direction. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food…there were some excellent surprises (I’ll let you discover them) above and beyond the selections on the menu. Amuse Bouche, Appetizers, Salad, Main and Desert courses were each executed with aplomb by the wait staff and each was delectable. On the expensive side for San Antonio (not so anywhere else) but the value is in the culinary/dining experience. Laurent is a top five San Antonio restaurant.

By far the most creative menu the city has to offer. Food is cooked to perfection, fun, and the atmosphere isn't stuffy. Keep up the amazing work chef.
