“Very clean, nice resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We stayed at the Blazing Star in early June after a trip to Sea World. The park is very well maintained. Bathrooms are nice, individual rooms with shower and toilet in one, so you have privacy. The RV spots are quite close together, but if it's not crowded, there is no problem. The pool area is very nice, and the staff were gracious. The price is a bit on the high side, as is often the case with "resort" campgrounds.

My Husband, Daughter and I stayed at the Blazing Star RV Resort for 8 months (11/2014 - 7/2014) due to a job assignment in San Antonio, TX. Our stay was in a brand new 31 foot travel trailer with two vehicles. There were cabins to rent and other guests in their own 5th wheel travel trailers, RVs, pop up campers and even a couple of tents. They have all of the amenities you would need when traveling.

In the main building they have the reception desk with wonderful guest services, a general store, arcade games, a pool table, mail boxes, a community room and lounge areas. The resort has a large swimming pool and a kiddie pool with bathrooms, a work out room with a tv and large mirror; ping pong table outside by the pool, 3 bath houses with showers, toilets and sinks, a laundry room with 18 washers and 18 dryers along with an ironing board and iron with a sitting area and tv. There is also a playground for the children with covered sitting/picnic area nearby and a two sided dog park for small and large dogs with shade trees, a bench in each side and poop bags with disposal bins. Through out the Resort are plenty of signs in regards to speed limits, one way street signs, dog park rules, pool rules and playground rules, etc. Each site is set up for 30 Amp, 50 Amp, water and sewer hookups and are concrete pads. Make certain you mention any slide outs you may have on your travel trailer, quite a few sites are not set up for them. The park is family and pet friendly.

During our stay we went to near by Sea World, the San Antonio Zoo, The Alamo, Ripley's Believe or Not, The Wax Museum, the River Walk, a local park, several movie theatres and quite a few restaurants. The Resort is only a few minutes from shopping and restaurants.

The Blazing Star Resort has definitely set the bar high for all of our future RVing experiences...

We were very impressed with this campground! The staff was friendly and helpful. We were in an RV and had a pull thru lot that was very spacious, easy to access and close to the pool. It was a quiet campground. All of the facilities were kept clean. The campground was family friendly and we would stay there again!!!

Spent four nites here. Beautiful park, safe, sparkling clean everywhere. Impressive buildings, must be pretty new. More upscale than most. General manager, Kathy, was terrific, helpful, friendly, and VERY accommodating. Don't hesitate to stay here, you will love it. Pool could have been warmer.

This park has nice pull-thru's, extremely large laundry room, nice pool, lots of trees, walking trails, good location for all the local activities to see and do. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The park is quiet, and the roads are great. The only complaint I have is the cleanliness of the bath houses and only one location for trash and no recycling.

We enjoyed 3 nights at the resort. It was quiet and had walking trails. The swimming pool and game room were very nice. My wife and I like to play pool when on the road and they had two tables. They had cabins as well as the RV sites. I agree with Peacelovegarden that it is a nice RV Resort and also wondered about the lack of trash pickup. There are several sites toward the front that have all concrete pads with picnic tables and a fence...see pic's. I like to include photographs and have done so here so you can get an idea of what those sites look like.

The park was nice. Nightly guest and seasonal, friendly office staff. But who charges almost $70 a night and doesn't have trash pick up? The wifi did not work the whole 5 days and we couldn't pull the ought the "pull through" site because the trees were to low.
