We wanted Mexican food while visiting San Antonio and had a good rec for this place. It has low key atmosphere with a rosy interior. It's great for families, couples, and groups. The chalupas were very good with fresh ingredients. The enchiladas suiza were covered with a delicious creamy sauce. The guacamole we had as an appetizer was right on point. All in all, it is a great place with good food. Our service was very good with our server being attentive to our needs. The prices are good and it's a few blocks off the beaten path which was to our liking. Go ahead...try it!

Third time not a charm. Had been twice, once to airport location, second time to this one. This time just about everything was mediocre. The noise level was extremely high, you could hardly hear anyone at our table of five. Food mostly bland. Had to beg to get anything even remotely spicy and then they wanted to give us bottle Texas Pete or something. Cheese enchiladas bland as possible. Service disinterested. Might stick to the one at the airport. Strangely for airport food a totally different experience. Just missed the owner who left right as we were sitting down. she would have gotten an earlful

Waited 40 minutes for a table. Waited 15 minutes to be addressed by server. Waited 10+ minutes before he returned with water and cold chips only - no salsa. Waited another 10 minutes for salsa. Waited 20 minutes for Queso to arrive. We were out of chips and requested a refill since they give you a very small serving. Waited 12 minutes. After another 15+ minutes, the guacamole finally showed up. Again we were out of chips and drinks. Took 10+ minutes for refills. Dinner shows up wrong. Ordered 2 cheese and 1 beef enchilada with NO beans. Waiter asked if my friend wanted double rice and she said it did not matter. Her plate shows up with runny refried beans on her enchiladas and rice. She asked for her dinner to be redone. Waited 15 minutes. The waiter returns with the SAME enchiladas and rice (which are cold and have beans still on them) on a new plate! Meanwhile my plate is sitting there getting cold because I did not want to eat with her having NO food. The food was send back again. By this time we had had enough. Called for the manager. Not only could the server not do his job, he charged for a second plate of rice and a plate of refried beans which were eliminated. The manager did not apologize for the horrible service, but insisted that we pay for food we did not eat. The food was not great!!! If this were the last restaurant in San Antonio, we would NEVER eat here again! HORRIBLE!!!!!

Received good advice and walked south from the river walk to eat here. My wife and I both loved our dishes. The Enchiladas Mexicanas was excellent, loved the roasted Jalapeños on the side. My wife enjoyed the puffy taco, meat was seasoned well and most tender. The service was outstanding and all of this for about $20. Will definitely return.

Went here while at a conference with a group of 12. No one went away disappointed. Food and service were great. They had no issue handling big groups. Menu has enough choices for every taste.
