“Happy accident”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

We were looking for the McNay Museum and wanted to have lunch. We noticed this place and pulled in. Though they are only open until 2 PM on the weekends, we got in just under the wire. They had both breakfast and lunch offerings and they were healthy and made to order. Obviously very popular with the locals.

“Bread not stale this visit”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

Twin Sisters contracted their bread baking to Central Market a couple of years ago. Before that they were having a small outfit baking it. And it was fresh and delicious. It was just perfect! Since they turned it over to Central Market it is hit or miss but mostly miss. Sometimes it is crumbly and stale. My last visit it was actually very good but not excellent. When you are spending more than $7 for a sandwich it should be perfect. The last time I told the owner my opinion she said exactly: "Sorry!". No other comments or interest in improving. I was taken aback by her lack of concern.

“Great all around!”

We love coming to twin sisters for breakfast on Sunday FunDay! The orange juice is fantastic, the servers are wonderful and the atmosphere is laid back. Get the French toast! Lunch is also good.

“Food You'd Be Proud to Make Yourself”
Reviewed 20 February 2013

Twin Sisters is one of the few restaurants in the world that you could eat at every day and be health, happy, and alive. Instead of loading their food with fat they rely on fresh, well prepared ingredients to give flavor and to keep their customers coming back. They serve breakfast until 11 AM so on my last visit to SA, lazy person that I am, I arrived frequently around that time for a late breakfast. The french toast, muffins, omelettes, and any of the scrambles are excellent.

At lunch I love the tortilla chicken soup and especially the egg salad sandwiches.

A lot of people don't like this place. I think I heard them say they were going to McDonalds.

“Reasonable prices, okay quality”
Reviewed 12 January 2013

Twin Sisters is packed on weekends so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit. Service was quite friendly and helpful, portions very large (1/2 order French Toast, for example was 2 HUGE slices of Texas Toast), and prices were quite reasonable (about $30 for 3 breakfast entrees, 3 coffees, and one extra egg.) Quality was adequate on what we had, but nothing was outstanding. It appeared that many folks were regulars at the weekend breakfast hour.
