I prefer locally owned restaurants to chains, and Little Italy has been a favorite since I moved here 20+ years ago. The decor is reminiscent of 1950s-style Italian family restaurants, with the red and white-checked tablecloths and Chianti bottles used as candlestick holders. The food is consistently wonderful, as is the service. If you are looking for trendier, regional Italian, with menu items like handcrafted Mozzarella and artfully crafted antipasto, this isn't it. This is straight-up comfort Italian: Ravioli, spaghetti with hearty meat sauce, lasagna, and some of my favorite pizza ever. Great for a date, great for families and friends.
