“Much more than a hotel!”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

We went for a relaxing get away and got just that! The room was more like a luxury apartment, the patio offered a woodland view, we watched a Roadrunner walk by one morning! There were lots of families at the Ranch but the property is so spacious and with so much to do we were able to enjoy our adult vacation. We started the stay with a wine tasting on one of the beautiful patios, complete with a delicious cheese and fruit tray and live music. We nestled by one of many fire rings around the property and cooked Some-mores, gourmet marshmallows were available! Floating the lazy river, stopping for a dip in a small spa located along the river and enjoying a cocktail on the sand beach made me feel like we had taken a day trip to an island paradise! One evening we went to a Fiesta with street tacos, a DJ and dancing. We left the property for a day trip but first we stopped at the Ice House market and picked up delicious made to order sandwiches and fixings for a travel lunch. We intended to meet family off site for dinner but had them come to us instead, we didn't want to leave. All staff members we interacted with, from the young man handing out tubes on the river to Jamie, the resort manager, were welcoming, gracious and helpful, making us feel at home throughout the stay. Can't say enough about this fabulous gem hidden in the hills!

Wow! Thats all i have to say really. We chose this as the hill country hyatt next door was booked and all i can say is thank you to everyone staying there!! We would not hae had the chance to experience this had it not been full. Everything here feels so relaxing, be it the rooms, pools, restaurant and especially the staff. I heard from a few people while i was there that it was under a new managemet team and in my opinion what is being done is phenomenal! Only wish we could have stayed more than the 3 nights!!

In June of 2013 we took the whole clan. All 6 of us. 2 adults, 4 kids.... The original purpose of our trip to San Antonio was Fiesta Texas, but everyone had so much fun at the resort the kids almost didn't want to go to Fiesta Texas!

The front desk put us up in the newest building, the Persimmon. The room was absolutely PERFECT for our family. A fully stocked kitchen complete with every appliance you could ask for on a vacation. Full size refrigerator, oven, electric range top, microwave, blender, toaster, dish washer, and, and, and...... All of the appliances were stainless and the kitchen even had granite counter tops.

The layout of the room was perfect. The master bedroom and bathroom had no common wall with the kids room. The master bathroom was huge complete with a stand alone, standup shower, a garden tub with Jacuzzi jets, and a separate toilet room. All rooms had nice LG LCD TVs approximately 42" each.

VERY nice amenities.

The best AND WORST part of the room was the water pressure. We turned on the master bathtub for it to fill and walked out of the room. DON'T!!!! After only a few minutes tucking the children in, we came back to the master bath and were greeted by a flood. The entire bathroom and half the bedroom were in standing water. Watch out for the water pressure!!!

HUGE and SINCERE kudos to the Hyatt staff. While the front desk had already closed (11:00 PM), they sent security with a truckload (literally) of towels for us to mop up and get the room to a sleepable state. We were relocated to another room the next morning at no additional cost! THANK YOU, HYATT!

This resort really is perfect for families. The swimming pool and lazy river were our favorite parts of the resort. My wife and I spent a morning walking the nature trail and thoroughly enjoyed our 1 mile hike.

If you have plans to visit San Antonio for any reason and you have a family, I HIGHLY recommend staying at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch.

Had our 1st visit with ya'll July 2nd & 3rd! This Hyatt Resort is definetly going be our new go-to place! We had an amazing time! Absolutely loved the lazy river and that we got to float til midnight!!! Our 9 year old loved biking on the nature trail and ya'll even made our 13 year old smile (not an easy task!)....he had an amazing time at teen night! He had a blast on the Flow-rider and having a professional surfer to help teach him the ropes made all the difference. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. The only bad part....having to check out on the 4th of July! We can't wait to come back!!!

We were staying at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and was talking with a sales guy about the Hyatt vacation club. After his sales pitch he gave me some wristbands to allow to swim at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch which is located next to the resort. The swim area has a lazy river, indoor and outdoor pool which is connected, indoor slide and outdoor slide (closed), but no adult pool. There is also a fire pit serving s'mores at night and a movie is shown for the kids and another movie after for teens. There is also a restaurant but it is not located next to the main pool.

The place is like a luxury apartment complex but geared for families with kids since the rooms have kitchens. There seems to be more activities at the resort and animals too.

My 12 year old daughter and I have visited the Wild Oak five times this year. It is 100% family focused with lots of kids around with which to play and interact. There is no need to leave the property unless you want to. Tubing the Rattlesnake River is great and the water slides are super. During our stay there were two party nights with street tacos and dance music, all G rated. The pool bars and restaurant are affordable and the service is excellent as it is throughout the property. It is obvious all the employees have been to Hyatt school...they call you by name, remember you and do all they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The only thing missing is breakfast. While all the units have kitchens, we wish a daily brunch could be added to the menu starting about ten or eleven in the morning. No need for the business traveller 6 AM breakfast, its a family resort, a 10 or !! am brunch would be great!

Room Tip: The studio is the best value but the one bedroom is fantastic. The two bed units are great for larg...

Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch was beautiful! We stayed close to home for our timeshare exchange & we were glad that we did...the pool was amazing with 2 awesome water slides. The lazy river was nice & relaxing. My daughters liked doing crafts in the mornings with Riley O'Brien ~ she was so friendly & helpful. The s'mores & the movie nights were so much fun (only downside is that the first night they didn't tell us that the special s'mores were $2 each...the other nights there were signs posted). It was right by Sea World & close to Fiesta Texas. The resort has enough to do that you could just stay here for your whole vacation & have a blast! Having housekeeping change out towels on a daily basis was a plus as most of the timeshares we have traded out to don't offer that.
