It really saddens me to write this review... I want to say only good things... But we were fairly dissapionted in our recent stay. The room was awesome-large, clean, etc... But so many small things were just not up to par. Check-in was difficult- we had requested a mini fridge (which was in the room, no problem there). When given the total for our stay, I SPECIFICALLY asked the desk staff if the total included cost for fridge... Yes, I was told... Card was processed, then I was told that she wasn't sure if fridge was included or not, so she needed to re-run my card for fridge- then I should check my records... & if I was overcharged, I should contact them to fix it later... REALLY?!? You can't tell if I've been charged the right amount- that's kind of your job, isn't it?!? Also, they did not provide us with enough breakfast tickets... Ironically, the day we ran out of tickets, our door keys quit working. We figured that she must have gotten our check-out date wrong in the system (even though we were charged for the correct amount of nights!)... When having to re-key our cards, it was an over 20 minute wait, due to the line in front of us... NOT a good experience- the bar was still nice, breakfast has gone downhill in quality from last year (I know that breakfast is a difficult thing to do, but really- warm milk & cottage cheese- we were afraid to ingest them, actually...but they did try, & a free morning meal is nice-)... Pool area was still enjoyable, but busy (NOT the hotel's fault)- could have been cleaner, & there were unattended, underaged children there many times... Again, not really the hotel's fault, but- if you have rules posted & guests inform you that the rules are being broken... MORE THAN ONCE- why is nothing done?!? We returned to the Crockett because we have had GREAT, OUTSTANDING service & stays in the past. We were REALLY looking forward to a nice, relaxing stay while on vacation... If this had been my 1st stay here, I would NOT be coming back... As it stands, we will prob give them one more chance. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time... But if service does not improve, I'm afraid that our affair w/the Crockett is over... :-(

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. We are very appreciative that you have stayed with us several times in the past and were encouraged enough to come back as our guest.

We strive everyday to exceed our guests expectations. As a team, we feel badly when we fail in these efforts. We know each guest visit is an accumulation of customer/staff interactions and experieinces, and we are only as good as any one of these events. In this stay, it seems that we missed expectations in a number of areas. For this we sincerely apologize.

We will certainly share your experience with all of our staff so that we can improve our operations for future guests. We remain committed to making the Crockett Hotel a great choice for guests looking for a unique hotel in the heart of a great city. And we will improve so that experiences such as you recently had are minimized and your confidence in us will be restored.

Don't plan on getting any sleep while your here, day or night. There's too much noise inside the hotel to ever sleep. If someone is in the hallway you are going to hear them. The location is great, close to the Riverwalk, The Alamo, the IMAX. but inside the hotel doors are alway slamming. The air wakes you up when it comes on and when it cuts off. Again, it's nice but don't plan on ever sleeping

As titled, the property is in a great location, directly across the street from the Alamo and not five minutes from the Riverwalk. The room was pretty plain, but clean. Nice bathroom. The problem we had is that we were over the lobby area and it was very loud all night long. They also do a breakfast buffet. Their food was okay, but the space was way too small so the crowd totally overwhelmed it.

We stayed there back in April which is a great time to visit San antonio as it is la fiesta time
The hotel was in a great location just near by everything , but the service was very poor the receptionist was very rude
On the day we were leaving I specifically asked them to call a cab early as I did not want to miss my flight they totally ignored that and waited till I was in front of the hotel with my bags and then they called
Cab never showed up I asked them to call another company where they refused at the beginning but after 15 min of arguing they did but the second cab also did not show up and I ended walking down the street with my bags and stopping a cab myself and thank god I made it on time
One other thing the rooms are noisy as the air conditions are very old beside if you were in a lower floor you will hear all the tour guides in front of the Alamo

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us back in April for FIESTA 2012. We appreciate all of the feedback that our guests provide and use it to continually improve our level of service.

We are sorry for the delay in dispatching a taxi cab for your return trip to the airport. At times, during the annual city festival of FIESTA, streets in the downtown area around the hotel are closed for the many parades that take place. I appears possibly that was the case on the morning of your departure. These closures are especially difficult for vehicular traffic making their way through downtown.

But even if this was the case, our staff should have been more accomodating in assisting you in securing a taxi. We know we are here only for the service to our guests and helping to arrange transportation with one of our local cab companies is something we do everyday. If we confirmed a request for an advance reservation for a taxi, it should have arrived as expected. We are sorry that they failed to be here as you anticipated.

We have shared your experience with our staff and also with our local taxi companies so that future guests will not have any similar experience.

Located just behind the Alamo, the Crocket Hotel is wonderfully located for all things downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk. This Boutique Hotel showcases its history with many old photographs in the lobby; however the décor is more simple and modern. If you in enjoy supporting history and small business but are not into stuffy antiques, shabby chic or other “history” labels this hotel fits the bill. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and friendly service made for a relaxing stay. When we first arrived we were surprise at the tiny elevators (about 3 x5) however, by the end of the trip we realized how a little intimacy made everyone extra friendly. The rooms are a great size with wooden shutters and a smaller bathroom. The shutters made the room light and bright for us but could be a problem for those who need blackout darkness in the morning. The free breakfast buffet was wonderful and had “make your own Texas shaped waffles”. The breakfast was well stocked all morning and offered hot and cold foods including eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit and breads. Great stay, great price and a little history!

Thank you for being a recent guest at the Crockett Hotel.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on your stay and to share your
experiences with others who may come to visit us.

As a 103+ year old structure, we have a great history and tradition of providing hospitality to
visitors to San Antonio. Our prime location and comfortable setting have been popular since
our beginning in 1909. We also have a unique building that we have been able to update to add
many of the newer demands of the traveling public while maintaining the historic features that our
building provides.

Thank you once again. We look forward to many return visits when your travels bring you back to the Alamo City.

Being interested in and wanting to support the preservation of historic landmarks, we booked this hotel in San Antonio, although there were many other choices at this fairly high price range, within a half-mile radius. Our corner room was large, the bathroom adequate but the furnishings were early Sears catalogue and bore no relation to the historic character of the hotel. The pillows were tiny and uncomfortable, because they were filled with foam rubber. The breakfast area is much too small, when the hotel is full of guests and the buffet area is a mess, because no personnel seems to be around to service it. Even for a light eater, the quality and choice of food leave much to be desired. Unlike many other historic landmark hotels that we have visited, the Crockett is mainly memorable in its mediocrity.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor to avoid the noise in the lobby.

We recently spent a few nights with our family at the Crockett Hotel. The older historical building was so very nice. The room gave the 4 of us plenty of room. Everything was kept very clean. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast has a small, but nice variety of food. The location is wonderful. We parked(for a fee) our vehicle and didn't use it in the city again. The Alamo is across the street, and the Riverwalk was just steps away. It was great to be able to walk back to our hotel room anytime we needed without having to worry about traffic.
