We were looking for a place in downtown that was within walking distance of the sights, mainly the Alamo and reasonable parking prices. We found this historic hotel and it met our needs. Remember this is a 100 year old building, but it really did not seem like a 100 year old building. We stayed on a Thursday night in a 6th floor outside room. The room was comfortable and the shutters let in a lot of light. It is a tad small compared to modern hotel rooms, but it worked fine for me, my husband and our 9 year old son. The bathroom was very clean as was the room. There is not fridge or microwave, but there is a ironing board and wifi. We did not have any noise issues during our stay. The breakfast was very good, we loved the Texas shaped waffles; my son ate 2 of those. It is extremely convenient to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. The parking is 20 per night. We only stayed on night, checked in on Thursday and out on Friday and were able to leave our car in the lot most of the day after we checked out. The price on parking is a bargain relative to other hotels in the area. The parking lot is also convenient to the hotel so you can get stuff out that you left in the car. The only issue was with the shower and it was just a water pressure issue not a big deal, once again, 100 year old building.
