Our stay here was pleasant, even if the weather outside was miserable. Eduardo, the front desk manager, made sure everything was in order. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The cost to park was a bit shocking at $20 per day but you do have in and out privileges which is good. But we never got our car because everything was within walking distance. The room was huge! We had a room with two double beds and a pullout couch. The one negative is that the pullout couch was super uncomfortable. My son can sleep just about anywhere and he said it was the worst night's sleep he'd ever had. The double beds, however, were very comfortable. Other than some stains on the carpet, the room was very clean. The elevators are extremely small and slow. You can barely fit a family of four in them, let alone adding a luggage rack to the mix. The breakfast was just "okay". There was a wide assortment to eat: Texas shaped waffle maker, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereL, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), assorted delicious juices. Kinda hit and miss. The sausage was cold, the eggs were hot and fluffy, the yogurt was warm. So, it seems like maybe things aren't kept at safe temperature levels. The pool is clean, but small. All-in-all, a nice little gem in the heart of the historic district for a decent price.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 204. It's right above the awning and has a huge set of lampposts right o...

We thank you for being our recent guest and for providing great constructive feedback on your stay. Thank you for rating us so favorably after your visit and for encouraging others to check us out as well.

We will certainly address the few concerns that you mentioned. We reviewed your thoughts with our kitchen and housekeeping staffs specifically.

We do not include the cost of PARKING in our room rates and we strive to keep our parking rate lower than almost all of the surrounding hotels. The 8 surrounding hotels within a block or two of us ALL charge a higher daily parking rate. Downtown parking comes at a premium as it is limited and in high demand.

Thank you again for your online review.

Booked the hotel because they stated they were pet friendly. First time being in San Antonio for family vacation. First off its is not a pet friendly hotel. We have always brought our pet on vacation with us. You can bring a pet, but you can't kennel in room for a family dinner. The dog can't bark. Among many other issues we had. The staff was extremely rude. Needless to say we went home early. Will not refer anyone to this hotel. Extremely disappointed!!!

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your recent stay. We strive everyday to make the hotel a comfortable and convenient experience for all of our guests. And we feel badly when we fail to do so.

We do welcome guests to bring along their pet. We provide a welcome amenity for the pets and provide some recommendations for them while here. We charge a nominal pet fee as we deep clean the room with pets upon checkout. The staff did waive the fee for your stay.

The hotel will work with our guests who have brought their pets along, so that there is no disruption for other guests staying with us at the same time. We will share your comments with our team so that we can be prepared to provide a better level of hospitality in the future.

This hotel is located right at the back entrance to the Alamo and just half a block to a shopping mall and the RIverwalk. It is a historic building, so lots of character and the room was quite clean and the a/c worked beautifully (and it was hot in San Antonio)! The continental breakfast was included in the room rate and had hot items too. Happy hour with Heather the bartender was loads of fun. No restaurant in the hotel, but lots nearby.

Pros: Hotel was pretty clean and so were the rooms. The location is awesome, right next to the Alamo and river walk. The hotel has great free breakfast with a variety of items. The desk people are very courteous and helpful. Also the beds and pillows were comfortable and the hotel price was good for the area.

Cons: $20 a day for parking. Really loud air vents in both rooms we stayed in. Valet service is pretty slow so call 30 minutes ahead. The rooms are smaller than most hotels. Room service is provided by an outside company so it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to arrive but was decent food.

Not a huge amount of facilities, but the rooms were large and clean. Hotel staff were very helpful and the price with breakfast was very reasonable. Right next to t he Alamo so you can be first in line . Also close to river walk and the hop on trolley tour. Wifi is good and free. And in Ernies bar you should sample Bartender Heather's marguerites , which are the best you will ever drink.
Heather is a fantastic bartender , as the previous reviews testify. If you smoke cigarettes the smiling area is in a nice shady spot. breakfast was ok , but it saves you the trouble of looking for somewhere to eat .

Room Tip: Can't really say but rooms on 6th floor were very quiet

We stayed here for 4 days in July. The hotel is beautiful; the staff is very helpful. The bartenders were very friendly and also suggested local places to eat. We used the pool at the Crockett which was very quiet. We also used the large pool at the Menger which was large and had many more people. They did have bar service there. The Crockett is in a great location next to the Alamo, close enough to Riverwalk, and walkable distance from most of the tourist attractions. Didn't like the $20 charge for parking at the hotel, but we did have great valets. They retrieved our car promptly every time. Also close to great restaurants and a shopping mall.

The Crockett Hotel is across the street from the Alamo in downtown San Antonio. It is an old hotel that has been renovated with all new fixtures and furniture and the renovation was well-done.
The pool area is very quaint and a good getaway from the hustle-bustle of the streets and the bar area is also very quaint.
The personnel at the front desk are very nice and very helpful. We highly recommend the grand hotel.

Room Tip: The higher, the better and quieter.
