This hotel is exceptional. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. Accomodations and staff were beyond first rate. Location couldn't be better - a minute walk to the Alamo and Alamo Plaza, a minute to Rivercenter Mall and a couple of minutes to stops for all tourist and city bus routes. Rates were way below what we expected for the location and class of accomodations. Included Continental breakfast was varied and plentiful. Can't say much more except we give them an "Excellent" rating is all catagories.

If you are a light sleeper you might want to reconsider staying at this hotel. I could hear the kids in the room across the hall watching TV, and it was not because the TV was obnoxiously loud, it's because the walls/doors are not sound proof in the slightest. We stayed about half-way down the hall from the elevator and I could still hear the "ding" every time it arrived, so much that it woke me up. If I were comfortable I probably wouldn't have woken up, but the mattress was ROCK HARD (some people might like that, not me).

The internet was free but probably the slowest I have ever experienced, for all three nights that we stayed there. There were not that many guests, so I don't know what their excuse is. I couldn't even watch an 8 minute YouTube video.

Overall I enjoyed my trip and the hotel served its purpose. The atmosphere was very nice, there was plenty of delicious breakfast, and the staff was nice too. There were a few jerks in the bar attached to the hotel, but there's not much you can do about that.

If you're looking for a cheap 2/3 day vacation, this is a good place.

Room was very clean with ample soap, towels etc. Room was quite small but that was to be expected in an historical venue. Hotel is directly across from the Alamo and near the trolley station and Riverwalk. The front desk clerk seemed uninformed about the area, but tried to be helpful.. The pool (which we didn't use) was small but there were plenty of fresh towels and chairs around. The only negative about staying downtown is the high price of parking. Seems that the finite amount of parking should be considered by hotel management and a way worked out to benefit guests and staff alike.

Would consider staying here again.

2) Value of the hotel, very homie...
3) freindly staff BAR and Front Desk...

Cons
1) Parking was not included in the hotel stay, but it can get expensive if you stay 4 days
2) the rooms where allitle small, I so used to big spaced out hotels
3) the pictures on the website really need to be update...

Love that I can smell NOTHING in this hotel! Not cleaners, not stale smoke, not carpet stuff.... just nothing! Wonderful! Room was very roomy. Stayed here a long time ago when it was owned by a different company (national chain) and it had been allowed to fall into disrepair. It was old, and dark. Rooms now have a clean fresh look/feel to them. Great Job Crockett! Staff were very friendly and helpful also.

For starters, the history of the Crockett Hotel and it's namesake is like none other. The temperature outside that day was hovering around 100 degrees, but the room temperature was just right, the beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Breakfast the next morning included delicious fresh fruit and those super Texas waffles.

The Crockett is located behind the Alamo--for a Texas history enthusiast, that alone is impressive. It was fun to look down on the street below that night and see the lighted horse drawn carriages, especially the one that looked as though it could have whisked Cinderella away from the Ball. San Antonio really is a fun place to visit!

The hotel representatives were excellent. They were courteous, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the area.
