We were pleasantly pleased with the actual Drury Hotel and its proximity (right out the back door) to the Riverwalk, but the hotel is not in a great area...vacant buildings across the street and vagrants milling around and sleeping in store fronts. It would be in the best interest of this hotel to even support a local business venture into getting those stores back open across the street. Security was present at night but seemed to spend most of their time directing traffic in and out of the very busy valet parking. Which leads me to my biggest complaint about the hotel. The valet parking is $21 plus taxes each night of your stay and we tipped $2 everytime we went in and out...so basically $25. So plan on tacking $25 a night to your room charge when considering this location. We really felt this was a bit excessive, and if you are staying more than one night they should give you a break in the rate! Hotel is very elegant, breakfast is hot and very well maintained, also drinks and a full variety of hot and snack items each evening is a real bonus. But since we didn't come to the Riverwalk to sit in a hotel lobby to eat we didn't really take advantage of the evening food...though you literally could have made a meal out of it. The room was very pretty, but absolutely no view...we were looking at the roof of the building next door, and the front desk when checking us in switched me to this room after saying the room they had me down for originally had no view?? Room was very comfortable: beds and pillows were awesome. Overhead ceiling fan very nice. We did not use the pool area although we went up to the rooftop to take a look...two big hottubs also, very nice. Overall nice stay, but I probably wouldn't stay again due to the location and the parking fee.

Room Tip: Insist upon a room with a view of something...and not close to elevators, which dinged all night long.

Although part of a chain, the building is amazing. Unlike so many soulless hotels, this old bank has character to spare and is situated on the river walk, sadly without a bar or dining ara outside, but you can't have everything. The kickback can be very busy, but they allow you to have double drinks, quite sensibly so you don't have to queue too much. The food is OK although breakfast was repetitive.

Our room in the San Fernando tower had a terrace with a great view of the city as well as a small portion of the Riverwalk. It was spacious and clean and easily slept 6 people. The lobby is huge and comfortable with tons of character as it's the converted Alamo National Bank. The complimentary breakfast has great choices from eggs, sausage and pancakes to oatmeal, fruit and yogurt. The hotel is located in the middle of the action. For the price and location, this is our "go to" hotel in San Antonio. On a more personal note, I discovered many hours after we checked out that I left a pair of shoes in the room. I called and Sandy in housekeeping had someone check, recovered them and brought them to the front desk so I could swing by and pick them up on the way out of town. Thank you so much, Sandy!!!!

We went to San Antonio and stayed at the Duruy Plaza. It is a beautiful bank building that has been made into a hotel. The building is just beautiful inside. It is very big with so much room. The people working there are just great. Always there to help you out with any questions. If there is a problem they fix it right away There was a broken light in our bathroom and they came and fixed it right away. Our room was very big and very nice. The beds are great and comfy. The free breakfast in the morning is very good and there is enough to pick from. The free kickback at night is really great. The menu is about the same every night but their is allot to pick from. We usually had our bigger meal in the afternoon and then went to have our drinks and something light from the kickback. It is very easy to get to the river walk from there as you can enter it from the hotel. The hotel is very secure as you need to use your key to enter the building from the river walk. It is with in a few blocks of many of the attractions and you can walk there or take the trolley. The river walk its self is a fun place to be and just taking the boat up and down the river is great to see. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to get back there sometime in the future. The weather was also just perfect. No rain no humidity and it was in the 80's. The nights and mornings were a little cool but warmed up quickly

Room Tip: We had a corner room which was very big

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at the Drury Plaza Hotel Riverwalk. It was wonderful. The location to the downtown attractions i.e. Riverwalk, Alamo was great. They had very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was good and they had a variety of foods. We stayed 3 nights then left to visit Rockport Beach then returned for 2 more nights. Both rooms were very nicely furnished and clean. I would recommend this Hotel and I would stay here again.
