“Good place to stay”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

We stayed there because we have stayed at Drury's before and found them good. We liked to know it was on the RiverWalk and made use of the underground floor to get there. Well located to enjoy our stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Drury Plaza the night of our wedding. We requested a room with a bathtub, which placed us in a handicap suite. Wow. The room was gigantic, with hallways and a full living room. The bathroom alone was the size of most hotel suites, with an enormous soaking tub/whirlpool and a shower, a double vanity and plenty of space. Also, we had a view looking out onto the Main Plaza. Obviously, we can't really speak to the amenities; we wanted to check out the pool, but didn't get in until almost 1. The one downside is the trek to the room; the hallways veer all over and are not exceptionally well marked. It was somewhat difficult to find the room, but once we did, we never wanted to leave.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Main Plaza/San Fernando Cathedral - beautiful views and incredible room/su...

We've stayed here more times than I can count. It's downtown, has Riverwalk access and lots of amenities. Rooms have always been clean and the air-conditioning has been cold. They offer a free breakfast and evening snack buffet. We usually do take them up on the breakfast. There are two pools one is on the roof providing pretty awesome city views during the day and better at night. You really can't beat the price for downtown San Antonio.

Room Tip: There are some coupon codes out there on the internet that work, just search for them.

I spent 2 weeks at this lovely hotel located on the San Antonio River walk, They serve breakfast and have a kick back hour with drinks and appetizers all for free. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When I checked in Max went out of his way to help me and my friend have beautiful rooms that were next to each other. Brittany helped us set up our conference room spending lots of time assisting us with our AV equipment, Merci would check in with us through out the day making sure we were comfortable and had all of our refreshments needed. Annette was delightful, providing wonderful service but also sharing the history of the hotel. I will definitely recommend to all my friends but also to have our conference held there again. I also loved the new additions to the salad bar kudos for having a healthy choice.

Room Tip: Stay in the main tower not the San Fernando if possible.

We stayed here for 2 nights arriving on Memorial Day. The hotel was easy to find and the valet park staff were great. The Bell Boy who took our bags was really good and stayed with us guiding us up and then showing us round the room.

Check in went smoothly, the lobby was awesome, we had booked a suite with a terrace and a Jacuzzi, and it was amazing. It was in the secondary tower and we were glad we had the Bell man with us or we might have got lost.

Our room was huge! It maybe could have done with a few more pictures on the wall - as the sheer size of the place made it look a little empty. Our covered terrace overlooked the cathedral and there were great views from the bedroom and the bathroom. The pools were both good although we spent more time in the outside one.

During our stay we were given a gift basket from the staff with riverboat tickets, water and some trail mix for our anniversary - this was so kind and the accompanying card was sign by the reception staff.

We went down for the Happy Hour - which lasts a lot longer than that and met Annette (if I remember correctly) who makes great cocktails! The red wine was also very good considering it was complementary. The dinner time snacks, were great and ensured that we had very little dinner whilst in this town. Breakfast was also good. All in all a great stay.

The staff is excellent and Sarah was awesome...she got on her radio to communicate with housekeeping to ensure our room was ready to check in. This was my kids' first experience at a hotel and 2 days later they are still talking about how great it was. Thank you Drury Riverwalk for our excellent and worry free stay.

This is a hotel in an old bank building that sits on the riverwalk in San Antonio. The room and breakfast package is a great value. The hotel has a lower level that permits direct access to the riverwalk and the guest is within a block of the busiest part of the river. There are many bars and restaurants in the immediate area. This is a hotel that appeals to cost conscious tourists but also to business persons interested in avoiding high hotel rates. Just a good value for the traveler.
