Hotel was in a great location. Valet and front desk employees were great as well as dining room staff and bartenders. Food was great. The 3 pm popcorn was awesome as well as the 5:30 pm kickback. I have nothing bad to say at all about our 3 day stay. Excellent customer service & value. We bought the Six Flags package. All I can say is GREAT TIME!!

This is the first time I've stayed at a Drury and it will be my last. This hotel needs some major renovation. It is old and smells of stale cigarette smoke even though it claims to be nonsmoking. We had a balcony with a river view and it was not worth it because you could barely see the river and our neighbors were constantly smoking outside and the smoke wafted into our room. Someone came up to spray fabreeze but it didn't help. The staff was very nice here and the pool was pretty good too. We used the pool every day and it was not crowded until happy hour. I think this hotel has such high ratings because of the free breakfast and happy hour drinks and food but our family found this to be mediocre at best. I wish I would've paid extra money to stay in a nicer hotel as we tried to keep busy to avoid going back to our room. The location is good though and you can take the river walk to places like Rosarios for good Mexican and Guenther House for breakfast. The Alamo is a short walk and natural Bridges Caverns is a great way to spend a day. I'd recommend a boat your on your first day (go early) to get aquatinted with everything on the riverwalk.

Thank You for choosing to stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel Riverwalk during your recent trip to the San Antonio area and for taking the time to complete a Trip Advisor review regarding your experience with us. We were happy to hear the wonderful comments you made about our staff and our rooftop pool and disappointed that this will be your last time staying with us. Our hotel clearly did not meet your expectations on décor or room odor. Please accept our sincere apologies for your neighbor smoking on their balcony and the smoke travelling into your room causing the stale smoke odor you mention. In regards to renovation/décor, the building was built in 1929 as Alamo National Bank and renovated into a hotel by the Drury Family less than a decade ago.

Again, thank you for your feedback. Should you change your mind and choose to give us another chance, I would like to know, and assist in making your stay one that reflects the level of service and accommodations that we strive for and are proud of. Please do not hesitate to call me directly.

Wonderful! Step out of the door of the Drury Plaza Riverwalk onto the Riverwalk itself. The building was formerly the Alamo National Bank and is simply gorgeous. A few relics of the bank itself on display. The prices were a little high but when we considered four of us could eat breakfast and dinner for free and each adult was allowed three free mixed drinks/night it was actually not that high and the food was very good. Not just bagels and a bowl of cereal! Our last day the General Manager was spotted picking up trash in the restaurant and later bringing down cars from the valet parking garage. The security guard in the parking lot told us that the GM was great - that he really cared about the hotel and it's employees and it showed. Plenty of hot water and cool air.

Super clean rooms, comfortable beds, ceiling fan (huge plus in my book), luxurious bathroom, RECLINER!!!!!, and the free breakfast and "Happy Hour" are such a treat! The staff was so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! The hotel is right on the Riverwalk, has a rooftop terrace, pool, and gym!

First time family trip to San Antonio River Walk. Hotel location was convenient to area attractions and check-in greeting was very welcoming. Valet service was speedy and secure and complimentary breakfast was a great benefit. The 5:30 kick back was a plus and my wife and I enjoyed the included complimentary drinks. It was very nice to wind down the evening without having to pull the wallet out. Our room was ready on time, clean, and comfortable. To Drury, I say keep up the good work and understand that the complimentary services made the difference for our consideration to return in the future.

First time stay and it was wonderful. Very lovely hotel and really clean. Hotel staff was very friendly and informative. Any questions or concerns we had were handled politely. Since this is downtown the area is busy esp at night. If you have children be careful with them out after 9p. Only for the reason that there are many social areas so people are drinking. Also it's a busy hotel and the happy hour gets busy. Make sure you are early or on time in order to have seating. Pool area is great, nephew loved it. Aside from that the hotel is great and will always be my choice when visiting San Antonio.
