“comfortable and relaxing placed to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2013

We stayed for 9 nights and had a most relaxing and comfortable stay. I found them on the internet. Close to the airport and downtown but in a quiet neighborhood. The breakfasts were delicious and many had a southwest flair that were prepared by Cherith, who happens to be a trained chef. The two gals that run the B&B were very helpful and friendly. They both gave us ideas were to look for an apartment for our daughter that is moving to the area. The room was comfortable and the sitting area peaceful. The price was very reasonable, a good deal. The neigborhood is beautiful and I felt very safe jogging through the neighborhood. I would definately stay there again when I go to San Antonio.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Londonberry room which at the bakc of the house and is just above the kitchen. We...

I've stayed at O'Casey's numerous times while in San Antonio for business, and will continue to do so. O'Casey's is located in a historic district that is safe and well-kept. The house is fully restored, elegant, and spotless, and the staff are cheerful, friendly, and care about every detail. I spend exactly what I would for a sterile, soul-less night at a chain hotel, while enjoying a gourmet breakfast with people from all over the country and world, in a unique and cheerful setting. I highly recommend this B and B, especially to business travelers who can enjoy every amenity that a chain hotel affords, but without the soccer team making noise until 3 am on your floor!

My husband & I as well as another couple spent 3 nights in the carriage house rooms. The hosts were very welcoming, kind and wonderful! They quickly helped with anything we needed. We appreciated the daily maid service and the fresh towels each day. The house is old, but charming. Our rooms in the carriage house were quiet. It was nice to be in a quiet part of town. We awoke each morning to the happy chirping sound of birds. The breakfast meals were excellent. The Riverwalk was a short taxi ride away. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

This is a lovely cosy place to stay. I stayed here a couple of weeks ago with two friends for two nights. The house is on a lovely quiet street just outside of the city centre (5 min on the bus). We stayed in the Dublin suite which was very comfortable and nicely decorated, and we each had a bed to ourselves. The owners have made lovely touches to the place such as making a lovely outdoor area with a fire and providing firewood and marshmallows, and leaving delicious homemade cake for guests to take. You're made to feel very welcome indeed.
We didn't actually meet the owners but Hannah is lovely and she even put some breakfast in the fridge for us as we had to leave at 5am on our last day. She also makes an amazing breakfast with plenty of choices.
The only things to be aware of is the sound of the Amtrak trains throughout the night - they're very noisy and constant! I'm sure this is the case for any hotel or B&B in the area and the owners had thoughtfully left earplugs for us. The other thing is that if there is no one home when you arrive to check in, you have to call the housekeeper on her cell phone. It's easy enough she talks you through getting into the house and finding your room key but it's something to be aware of if you're an international guest.
All in all, I definitely recommend staying here if you're in San Antonio.

Room Tip: The Dublin suite has a double bed in the main room and two singles in the adjoining room.

My husband and I stayed in the Blarney loft for four nights in December; we cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at the O'Casey's. The O'Blarney loft was perfect for us, as it is separate from the main house and has its own private entrance, giving us more privacy than is typically available at a bed&breakfast. The room had its own furnished kitchen, including tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable.

But the best part of this bed&breakfast is the hosts and the main house. Breakfast is different each morning, and delicious! It was one of our favorite parts of the day. There is a fireplace with comfortable chairs off the dining room where we often spent time. Tea and coffee are always available. Outside there is a grill, fireplace, and patio seating that is wholly available to the guests. While we did not use these outdoor amenities, another family there at the same time roasted marshmallows outside with the kids and grilled out for dinner.

The hosts are wonderful, welcoming and very helpful. We would visit San Antonio again just to stay at this Bed&Breakfast. The only thing to note is that you do have to drive into the river walk (and pay to park!), but there are so many other things to do in San Antonio, and great nearby O'Casey's, we didn't find this to be an issue at all. Also, we came as a couple, but the place is also great for families.

Room Tip: If you'd like additional privacy, there are two or three rooms located in the carriage house beh...

7 women stayed a Clare's Cottage and Blarney Loft for 4 days. The accommodations were charming and well kept. The breakfasts were delicious. Madonna, Kristen, and Hana are wonderful hosts and we all felt pampered, which was our goal. This is a perfect getaway, reasonably priced and conveniently located.

Room Tip: We stayed in Clare Cottage and Blarney Loft.

Our group of 7 college friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay this past weekend. We had the entire upstairs , everyone had theiir own bed and we loved having the second floor porch all to ourselves. Located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, we were within walking distance of a great Mexican restaurant and some shopping. Loved that the rooms all had refrigerators and toiletries.Breakfast was great with lots of choides...and coffee! We would definitely consider this B & B for a future "reunion".
