We stayed here for 3 days/2 nights. It is very expensive, but I think you get what you pay for.

Everyone was so nice and welcoming there. I don't think I passed one employee that didn't say hello or welcome. They were helpful about the hotel and area attractions.

We paid extra to use the Regency Club which provides snacks, drinks, etc. It was nice, however, it was about $140 extra for both nights, so I don't think we would do it again. I don't think we drank and ate $140 worth. They do provide you with a continental breakfast though, so it may be cheaper for your family. The guy that worked there did tell me that in the summer season it's packed with people.. we were in the off season, so not to many people to contend with.

The grounds of the hotel were so beautiful. They have nature walking trail, pools, playground. They did a campfire with smores at sunset. The lazy river has a man made beach. There are bars and restaurants. They have bicycles you can use.

The room was gorgeous. We had a King with a rollaway bed. Everything was clean. They do turn down service when you are away at dinner.

I was a bit disappointed because the pools were supposed to be heated, but they were still pretty cold. Other than that, it was a great stay!

We just returned from a girls' getaway weekend at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. We really enjoyed the property - it's beautifully landscaped and has loads of amenities. We had a suite, which was nicely decorated and very comfortable, also had a small in-room refrigerator, which was great for storing cool drinks. There's not much view to speak of, but we spent very little time in the room because of all the activities offered on the property. There's a 900 foot "lazy river" that runs around the property - inner tubes for floating were abundant, and they came in both kid and adult sizes. It was great to just relax and float around the property. They also have a pool, small white sand beach, and hot tub. There are waitresses that circle fairly often to see if you'd like drinks or snacks, which can be charged to your room. There's also a nice golf course, bicycles for both kids and adults, several restaurants, and even pony rides. I wouldn't really recommend this place for a romantic getaway - kids were abundant, and I would assume even more so during the summer, but for a fun, casual getaway or some quality family time, this is a great spot. One of the unique things they offered was s'mores in the evening - they build a fire, you toast marshmallows, and they put the chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker together for you - kids were helping with the assembly, and they were having a blast.

We also really enjoyed their spa facilities. The spa is located in a quieter area of the property and features an adults only pool. We had manicures, pedicures, facials, mud wraps, brow waxes - all of us sampled different treatments, and all got the thumbs up. We found the hotel to have very nice, friendly service. The restaurants were pretty good as well, and without asking, the servers would ask if we would like 5 separate checks - made things really easy.

Really the only thing we didn't like was the noise level - late at night, we could clearly hear people's conversations in the hall, doors slamming, people running - made it a little hard to sleep. The next morning we compared notes, and that's the one complaint everyone voiced. If you're not from Texas, you'd probably get a kick out of all the Texas decor - limestone, large fireplaces, bluebonnets, windmill on the property - all a very charming taste of the hill country. We ate one meal on the River Walk - about a 20-minute drive. If you're going to Sea World, this property is in a great location. Overall, we enjoyed the Hyatt and would stay again.

I stayed at this resort with young children. There were a lot of activities for the kids and we didn't need to leave the hotel property for any entertainment. The hotel offered tricycles and bikes, horse rides, horse drawn carriage rides, making smores, and planned activities all day long. Most of these activites were covered in the $12 daily resort fee. The hotel has a pool, lazy river, beach area, and adult pool. The one thing I did not like about the beach area was that it was connected to the lazy river so younger children could not play in the water area in front of the beach without drifting away in the current. At the Hyatt Lost Pines location (similar property) the beach area is connected to the pool instead of the river which is much better. The beach area was also really small and the sand had ants. The hotel has three places to eat. The food at the resort was not really that great. I think they could improve the quality of food. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfy. The resort had a lot of staff and they were all pleasant and helpful. There did seem to be a lot of kids running around unsupervised!! I would not recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a romantic or quiet get away especially during summer, spring break, etc. This hotel reminded me of a disney resort with regards to children being everywhere. Overall, I think this was a fun hotel for families. It was nice that the hotel could serve as the "attraction" and we didn't have to plan other things to do although the hotel is close to sea world, a short distance from Fiesta Texas, and about 20 minutes from the River Walk.

The Hyatt is a beautiful property and the newly remodeled rooms are very nice. However, the remodel included stone flooring in the entry areas of the rooms and every time a door is slammed (frequently) the sound reverberates through the surrounding rooms. Overall the rooms are not well insulated.......sound levels from tvs etc. are more in line with a budget hotel than one this nice. Take earplugs. The beds and pillows are comfortable but the sheets do not stay on the bed....by morning it is a mess. Westin and Marriot have the edge here. Room service was great. The health club has a variety of machines. The in room refigerator is a neat new feature. The general store with pizza ad deli items is a plus...as is the fact you can get large salads, lowfat yogurt, juices , fruit, and many other things from this nifty little corner all day. Also convenient are the pre printed direction cards distributed by the concierge. They have them for all of the standard tourist destinations in town. A last word to the wise "CHECK YOUR BILL". Both time I have stayed here I have been charged daily for valet parking that I never used.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The hotel was great for our family (including a 4yr old and 2yr old). The hotel does an awesome job of organizing daily activities for everyone to enjoy. During our stay, we made smores around a firepit everynight, our 4yr old rode a horse, we all rode on a horse-drawn wagon, watched movies out on the lawn and ate popcorn everynight and spent most of our days in the lazyriver or pools. The best part was all these activities were free!! We booked the "Great Family Deal" through the hotel's website and this gives you a one-time $25 activity credit, daily $35 meal credit (except arrival day), and free valet parking. The only time I would suggest eating in one of the restaurants is for breakfast. The Springhill Cafe has a buffet every morning and kids under age 4 are free. Even the kids milk or juices are free from the buffet. Adult buffet is $18/pp. There is a nice assortment of pastries, fruits, made to order omelettes, waffles and pancakes. We ate dinner at the hotel one night and it was just too expensive for two kids who barely touched their plates and two parents who shared a meal (over $50). I suggest bringing some drinks and snack foods to keep in the room since there is a refrigerator. There is a McDonalds about 5 minutes away, which is convenient. We picked up a meal there one night and brought it back to the hotel and ate out by the pool. The hotel is very centrally located...about 5 minutes from SeaWorld which was great. We will definitely go back.

  • Liked — The beds are comfortable and each room probably has 4-8 pillows.
  • Disliked — Not much of a view except the treetops.

Beautiful hotel with lot's to do. The Hyatt Hill country resort has alittle bit for everyone. It's has a golf course, spa, hike/bike trails with free bikes to rent out, numerous wonderful pools, lazy river (can you say HEAVEN!), man made beach area, playground, movies on the lawn in the summer along with smores, and hayrides. In the afternoons they even had cookies and lemondade in the lobby for the guest.

Once you wear yourself out with everything there is to do outside you can relax in your beautifully furnished room. The rooms are large. the upstairs room shave alittle balcony with chairs to sit on, The downstair rooms have a patio that opens to the lawn...nice to let the kid's run around and you can be near by your room.

My family and I have stayed at this wonderful hotel/resort numerous times and love it!! The staff is friendly and the hotel is beautiful. It is also right by Sea World. Sadly, it doesn't a shuttle. But...that is the ONLY downside to this treasure

WOW...Even though the wether was beastly hot, the "lazy River" brought us out everyday/night! My 8 year old just LOVED it! Nothing but good things to say . We were delayed checking in (check in 3PM but our room wasn't ready until 6PM) they PROMPTLY with out asking gave me a $100 credit to their restaurant. HAVE fun!
