My first trip to San Antonio. The Hyatt a Regency is a great example of Hyatt post modern with great modern updates. Location is awesome with easy access to the RiverWalk. Rooms are well appointed and comfy. Enjoyed a large corner room with a patio, atrium view was great for sleeping. Can also request an Alamo view room. Be sure to check out the rooftop pool! Food and catering is awesome. Staff is warm and welcoming.

I received exceptional service during my stay by the staff in the Grand Club; Judy Botello, Andreia, Mo, Ramir, & Angie. They went out of their way to see if there was any special needs or service they could provide. The club lounge was always clean, and they were very pleasant to talk to.

Stayed here many times. Recently renovated in 2013. Location in the middle of the Riverwalk can't be beat. Park your car and walk, take the river taxi anywhere in downtown and out to the old Pearl brewery. Take the car to the missions. Rooms are spacious and Hyatt well appointed. Staff is very friendly for a Hyatt. Restaurants are mediocre, walk to many options on or near the river. Walk to the Alamo. Like the French Quarter but without much live music.

Room Tip: Paying for a view should be considered since you won't spend much time in the room.

Nice, clean hotel in a great location directly on the Riverwalk. Check in was fast, and they had our room ready even tough we arrived several hours early. Rooms were clean and spacious. You can tell they have been updated, but the old popcorn ceilings are still present. Flat screen TV was good picture quality, but extremely slow when changing channels. Unfortunately, the nice fountains downstairs in the lobby were not working during our 2 day visit. Also, you have to pay $9 per day for "regular speed" Wifi, and $19 per day for "high speed," which seems ridiculous. Parking across the street is $25 per night, and valet parking is $35 per night.

Best part:very comfortable beds/pillows! Nice location due to access to Riverwalk & Alamo. I agree with previous comments regarding need for more stair access. Give yourself an extra 10 min if convention is going on. I was disappointed in concierge service. Told us wrong info regarding bus to Sea World and very few recommendations. We actually got more help from Concierge at the Westin by accident. There is a bus that will drop and pickup at SeaWorld not far from hotel on St. Mary Street (comes hourly). They did allow us to keep luggage there after checkout so we could do other things before flight left. Also can ask for late checkout (1 pm). There is a TV on Riverwalk level right by an ice cream shop that shows movies for kids. It was a nice air-conditioned break for our little guy after a lot of walking on the trip.

we travel with our young daughter to San Antonio 1 or 2 times a year for mini-vacations from Austin and love staying at this hotel. the lobby is dramatic and beautiful and the glass walls opening out onto the River Walk put you into vacation mode immediately. their standard rooms are spacious and comfortable and have huge windows.
this past weekend, the Hyatt was booked so we choose another 4-star rated location on the Riverwalk only to be very disappointed. We kept saying the whole time, "This would never happen at the Hyatt." Their attention to detail is impeccable and second to none. I feel pampered and comfortable and leave with a smile on my face every time. Their service is exactly what I expect from a 4-star hotel and I won't make the mistake of staying elsewhere on future trips.

Room Tip: spring a little extra on the river view, it's worth it. if you go city view, ask for the highes...

The design of this hotel is one of the most interesting I can think of. Just riding the elevators is a visual experience. Add in water features that originate a block away near the Alamo, and then run thru the lower hotel and into the River Walk, and it's just a visual delight.
It has it's own entrance to the River Walk, and is just a short walk from all the downtown attractions and the Convention Center.
Of course there are less expensive places to stay that are farther away but if you can afford it, this place is n the middle of it all.
The Staff was great to me, and the hallways were quiet, except when the Spurs won a Basketball game.....or a Championship!
It is a two block walk to the River Center Mall, a beautiful Movie Theater with the best seats I have ever seen, and it also has IMAX.
You have all the Clubs, and Restaurants of the River Walk, the boat rides, and just the whole people watching show right there all around you.
