Excellent location and facility. Right on the river walk and within two blocks of the Alamo. The service was also good. Why must the review have a minimum of 200 characters, I don;t have that much to say.

Older, well-kept hotel. Super, well-trained staff in room service and the gift shop. The Riverwalk is literally right through the back doors of the hotel and the Alamo is out the front. After a small mixup in my room service order, the staff member made a special trip to my room to deliver a box of 4 truffles.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street if you're there during NBA playoffs. Spurs fans are rowdy!

Let me start by saying we have stayed here many times and have always loved it! We made reservations online for 1 night and asked for a Riverwalk view. Long story short, we were NOT booked in river view room. We were told in the future it's probably best to call after booking online to ensure our request is received. Interesting I've never had to do this in the past. We were told there was a partial river/city room that we could be have, however it wasn't ready and they would call as soon as the room was ready. After waiting 3 hours for our room we went back to the hotel to check in. Amazing the room was ready (never revived that phone call). We had room 1118, nice room with a good view of the river.

The pool was our first stop!! It's not very big, but it's relaxing. I can't stress who glad I was we DID NOT have our 3 girls with us!!! It was like spring break in the pool!!! After reading the pool rules the max capacity for the pool was 35, there were easily 40 people in the pool & another 20 siting around the pool. Ladies (of all ages) were funneling beers. It was entertaining, but again not a scene I would have wanted my girls around. There was NO bartender on duty, the poor girl taking orders was running from downstairs to the 11th floor with drink orders. We were told the reason there wasn't a bartender on staff at the pool is because they never know what to expect at the pool. Uhhh, it was 3:30pm and the pool was FULL, I'd say they needed someone manning the bar!! I'd say 90% of us at the pool brought or went and got drinks to have pool side instead of waiting on the waitstaff.

We've got mixed feelings about returning to the Hyatt Regency. Staff was subpar, room was nice but took longer than expected, pool was fun, but 100% couples scene! What sells this property is it's location, it is in the middle of the Riverwalk & easy access to the river or the Alamo.

Would definitely recommend this hotel - from location to amenities, it is outstanding. The majority of the trip was for business, but my 3 friends and I stayed over for a pampering day - which was the best part of the trip. Spa is 5 Star

Upon arrival room was not ready. But had some great drinks and food at bar. Very friendly staff.room was amazing and quiet and when cleaned was very clean. I will come back. For being very high occupancy in the hotel the pool was crowded with children. Not great when you want a romantic swim.
