The staff here was amazing. We stayed here Thursday night and then again Sunday night. Check-in was was smooth, quick and easy with Azeem and Elmo both equally helping out both nights. Even when a line started to form the wait was no more than a few minutes. Check-out was just as fast and friendly with Emily and Fernando in the mornings. Heidi went out of her way, as we stood looking at the rain coming down from inside, to let us borrow some umbrellas. I typically do not remember names but was sure to write these amazing worker's names down. They also helped out with local attractions, places to eat and places to park. The room was amazing, clean, and had beautiful views. Our Balcony was large clean and a joy to be out relaxing on. The Alamo and Riverwalk were very short walks from the hotel. You are in the heart of the city at the Westin. Next time we visit San Antonio we will definitely stay here. Well worth it.

Room Tip: Try and get room with large Balcony on 4th floor

The staff is great - I was there for a conference, and inadvertently left a scarf in my room. Raphael in Security located and shipped it back to me.

Everyone at the conference enjoyed the meeting and food services. I noted that many attendees stayed at the hotel for drinks after dinner instead of taking advantage of the Riverwalk scene. The outdoor dining areas were very pleasant.

This hotel is set on the riverwalk in San Antonio. However, it is in a quiet area of the riverwalk. After spending time on the riverwalk in the heart of the action, it was great to get back to the Westin.

Our room was comfortable and furnished nicely. Service was friendly and prompt. Someone was always asking if you needed anything. I liked that.

This hotel has an outdoor area for dining or having a cocktail that is out of doors as well as the usual indoor restaurants and bars. The outdoor area is right on the river walk. We loved having a glass of wine here each day in the late afternoon. It was a lovely setting.

...Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. The hotel is moderately well situated in the river walk, a little abaft of the Hilton but a fair walk away from the more vibrant sections of the 'walk. Our room (my wife and I went here for a scientific conference) was spacious and comfortable, with a large stone table that at first appeared bereft of electron sources until I traced back a discreet black cable from the single power outlet to an even more discreet farm of electrical receptacles tucked under the tabletop. The bathroom was excellent, with stone floors and countertops, and a shower that actually worked and a drain that did not threaten to flood us. Room coffee was Starclucks (ick) by the cup. Workable.

Being in the More You Pay the Less You Get category, breakfast and wifi are for-pay. Fortunately our conference sprung for an adequate continental breakfast, and our wireless devices supplied direct internet connections or hotspots as needed at no extra charge. T-mobile (yay) and AT&T (ick) connectivities were excellent. Anymore, only suckaz use for-pay wifi.

Minor grumbles: on our first day the bedside alarm sounded like the twenty-four horsepeople of Armageddon at 5:00 in the expletive deleted morning. Maybe it was our responsibility to check that it wasn't set. Maybe it was the hotel's responsibility to ensure that old noxious settings that would disrupt its new guests' slumber would be inactivated. I lean towards the latter interpretation. And why was the coffee maker religiously unplugged every morning? Did they think it would reach the Rapture of the Nerds tipping-point and stealthily advance on the room"s occupants at midnight? Come to think of it, maybe it's best left unplugged...

The hotel engages in a quaint late-afternoon ceremony of sangria, other adult beverages, and sundry basic crudités for the guests. If you are used to the Embassy Suites' excellent Manager's Reception, don't be fooled. Two glasses of (quite good but oh so not generous) sangria will set you back $20 with tip. Prices not announced up front.

The conference was tolerably well managed on the hotel's side. Curiously, the cash-only bar had drink tickets that were unique to each night, meaning that those who deferred their pleasure, lost it - or at least that kind of pleasure. Cash bar wine at $8 was overpriced. Snacks were quite creative and tasty, though healthy options were rare to non-existent, but hey, Texas. A catered lunch was above average.

All told, a good choice for comfortable accommodation on the 'walk.

Room Tip: As high as possible, and bring earplugs if there's a game on, especially if the Spurs win.

This is very niece property. If there was a rating for 3 1/2 star I would use it.
This is good location on the River Walk. The staff is friendly and service is what
one would expect from a Westin property. Hotel was very clean. This is very niece
place for a family that wants to be on the River Walk but not in the middle of the noise.
Quite location but not far from the action.

This hotel is typical elegance of Westin. Located on the less populated turn of the Riverwalk, the restaurant is open air onto the walk and has quietness by being away from the busier sections. Yet the busy sections are only a 5 min walk away and the Alamo only 10 minutes and mostly on the walk if desired. The restaurant prices seemed unusually reasonable. Staff was perfect..never had to open the front door. Valet parking expensive at $35, but 2 lots are directly in front of hotel and easily accessible for self parking.

we stayed at the Westin at the end of March. It's on the river walk and an easy walk to restaurants, the western museum and La Villita. We had a snack in the hotel restaurant, Zocca, when we arrived. Sat outside on the river and had drinks, Mojito and Sangria which were very good. The snacks were great too.
