“Lakedale was awesome!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Beautiful location. There's a big main lodge, a big lakehouse to rent for large families, smaller log cabins which we stayed in, glamping permanent tents and regular camping spots. It was great! We made smores next to the lake and went on a canoe ride. Really enjoyed our getaway! Want to go back again!

my brother and his fiancé were married here on May 17th, 2014. We came in early to enjoy the area before the festivities. WE have been to Friday Harbor a few other times but never ventured far from town. Could not believe what we were missing. we stayed in a 2 story cabin overlooking one of the lakes. My two children and their spouse/s o stayed with us. the accommodations were very comfortable, nicely decorated and there was plenty of room for us all. We were able to make breakfast with the provisions they left in the room. The front desk clerk, Carla who I dealt with a lot, was so very helpful and knowledgeable. The wedding could not have been performed in a more beautiful setting. I recommend this wonderful to resort anyone looking to spend some time in a restful place. Activities abound , it is fairly close to Friday Habor and other attractions.

Room Tip: there is a lodge with rooms, cabins, and camping area. Great choices depending on your style of vac...

We stayed here in May, 2013 for 2 nights. We came out to go whale watching & visit Seattle from MN. This is a lovely property. It's very similar to lodgings that we have in northern MN, along Lake Superior. We truly enjoyed our stay. The food was awesome, service was exceptional. I would love to come back for a longer stay. Walls in room were a bit thin, as we could hear our neighbors. It did rain while we were there, so we did not make it out onto the lake. We DID see whales, though, and the sun did come out for that tour and we were on calm waters the entire time. HIGHLY recommend this property!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lakedale and highly recommend this place to anyone looking to be spoiled in a wooded setting where the theme is peace and tranquility. When we checked into the lodge, our room was ready to include a bottle of champagne chilling on ice for my wife's birthday.

We arrived on May 1st with the lodge just opening other areas of the resort awaiting campers and other guests for the season. The lodge only has 10 nicely appointed rooms, but has several other areas to include cabins, canvass cabins, RV's, and camping hook-ups for RVs etc. They offer kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, paddle boards, fishing equipment and several other outdoor games for the whole family. The general store was just opening which includes anything you might need while in the outdoors and even has a stand for outdoor hotdogs, hamburgers and more.

The setting is picture perfect from each room which opens out onto one of the three lakes literally steps off of your back deck. Each room is furnished with outdoor furniture on the deck, but a large comfortable sitting area is only a few steps away. This is nicely appointed with great outdoor furniture which compliments the log cabin feel. The lodge is small, but also has a sitting area, wine bar and allows guest to read, play chess or visit in luxury. The staff leaves each night, but operates on an honor system if you want to grab a bottle of wine for your room.

Included in our stay is a complimentary breakfast that is not your everyday continental breakfast. This breakfast offers fresh coffee, fresh juice, cold cereal, fresh fruit, custom homemade granola, yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes and bagels. It doesn't just stop there are you are treated to an omelet made by the staff. Everything was truly first class and tasted great!

The highlight of breakfast is the staff as they are all delightful and really try to give you anything and everything you ask for. Maryanne has a great personality and provided us with insight of the island as well as a map and directions of sights to see. She makes the granola herself which is truly one of a kind where seconds and thirds are not out of the question. Even though the lodge only provides you with breakfast it is top notch and worth a trip to the dining area each morning. Excellent work Maryanne and staff!

The front desk is very helpful and provided us with a lot of info being this was our first time to the island. One such daily event was the bald eagle feed each day at 5:00 pm just a little further down the road. This was amazing as you can't get the true understanding of how wonderful these birds are without seeing them in the wild, up close, and personal. If you like seeing wildlife in its natural habitat this is something you have to experience.

Also suggested by the lodge staff was a trip to Roche Harbor, which is a little smaller then Friday Harbor, but worth the trip to the other side of the island. We had dinner at a historical restaurant called McMillan's which overlooks the water and harbor. Great food and spirits worth the trip!

To close out our review, I would like to add our whale watching experience was the highlight of our trip. We paid for two seats on Western Prince II which has an office and is operated right off the dock at Friday Harbor. Our trip was longer than we signed up for, but for good reason as we learned of an Orca sighting a little further out in Canadian waters which was now our new destination. We had 13 people on our boat who were provided with a nice show seldom seen on these outings. We followed the federal rules for time and distance and still captured several photos to share for years to come.

We want to thank the staff of Lakedale at Three Lakes for making this a wonderful trip and experience. My wife and I travel a lot and this is one place we will put back on our list of return destinations.

Thank you!
Robert and Linda

This is such a nice place to stay. This is what you would imagine a nice lodge looks like. Comfy, clean, quite (though we went during low season), friendly staff, and beautiful views of the little lake. The decks on the 2nd floor have a great view and the communal deck is awesome.

We went around to check the camping and glamping area. The glamping looks like a fun thing to do. The camping area is super organized but there seems to be little privacy between camp sites.

The only con is the price. It's pricey! If it was less expensive we would go more often or bring more people. Nevertheless, I'll recommend it.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms facing the lake have a great view. The rooms and deck are comfy, clean and spacious...

My husband and I stayed here in April for just one night but it was exactly what the doctor ordered. We stayed in one of the deluxe lodge rooms with one queen bed. Suite 3. The room was stunning! The views of the lake was stunning!! Huge bathroom with a jetted tub... A fireplace in the room acts as the primary heat in the room and there is no a/c. There is a ceiling fan, standing fan and windows that open to cool down the room. We took advantage of the boats, fishing and fire pits(at an extra cost) and all were worth it. The only thing that keeps us from rating this hotel a 5 is the horridly uncomfortable bed. It was a brick. There is no box spring. So you have a thin, hard mattress on a wood box. We slept a total of 3 hours and contemplated sleeping on the deck. Outside of that, it was truly incredible. The free breakfast was the best complimentary hotel breakfast I have ever had! They make you custom omelets! Delicious! The staff is very laid back and only work 9-5p but they give you run of the lodge. We needed to leave at about 8:30a and were told to just leave the key on the counter. Odd but it just fits with the laid back atmosphere of the resort. We will definitely be back (with an air mattress)!!

This is a wonderful and interesting place to stay. The lodge is gorgeous. The lack of cleaning may have been a one-off thing but the garbage in bathroom hadn't been changed, the jacuzzi tub shot out a clump of hair and one bed seemed to have been remade without the bedding being changed. The staff was very apologetic about this and said they would bring it up with housekeeping.
