“Skilled baristas make excellent coffee!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

The Bean Cafe is a great place with generous seating and a few tables outside in the walk-through passage between the buildings. They have wonderful baked goods and excellent breakfast sandwiches. We stopped there to wait for our very early ferry departure, and the coffee was just delicious!! There are many coffee places in Friday Harbour, but try this one - you'll be glad you did!

“Great independent coffee shop & hangout”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

This shop offers organic fair-trade coffee brewed in a large variety of hot and cold varieties by friendly, enthusiastic staff. The baked goods and sandwiches are a nice plus, and the free wifi means you can hang out and catch up on email or finalize trip plans while sipping coffee. It can get noisy, especially when a crowd comes in off the ferry, but definitely a must-see spot in this town!

“Airy open and yummy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Great place to sit and relax with a java. Open, airy, clean atmosphere. Fresh and large variety of muffins etc. Excellent lattes and coffee. Found this gem by accident and returned for breakfast the next morning. Gluten free options. Upbeat and helpful staff. It was busy, but service was fast.

“Great place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

Their salmon/cream cheese/spinach/tomato bagel was so good I had it two times. Their capuccino and latte are excellent. On a busy morning, service can be slow but the wait is worth it.

“Excellent Paninis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

We dined here for lunch for the first time on our annual week-long visit to San Juan Island. We all had grilled Paninis and they were excellent, with crispy flavorful grilled panini bread and fresh, flavorful ingredients. I had their special of the day, which was a delicious combination of black forest ham, red pepper, cream cheese, red onion, and a wonderful sauce whose ingredients elude my memory but was very tasty. Their everything cookie - with chocolate chunks, macadamia nuts and coconut - was vaporized by my kids. Prices - like most everywhere on the island - were on the high side, but the quality was top drawer.
