We wanted a Sunday Breakfast / Brunch while we stayed on San Juan Island. We got good local input to go to the Rocky Bay Cafe. When we arrived, there was quite a crowd waiting outside (always a good sign of decent food). The Owner greated us and we put our name ion the waiting list. He told is it was only a "10 minute wait" - he told everyone that arrived after us that is was a "ten minute" wait. After 30 minutes, we were seated. The food and service made the wait well worth it. Fairly straight forward breakfast fair, but done REALLY well. The Cafe was packed and the servers were hussling. My wife hade a basic eggs, hash browns and bacon combo that she fully enjoyed. I had the Chicken Fried Steak. The fried steak and gravy were very good (I am a bit of a pepper monkey when it comes to my sausage gravy) but it did need more pepper. The steak was very tender and the eggs were perfectly done. The Cafe's hash brown are done "old school" - which is good. They were crispy, and tender all at once and I enjoyed them thoroughly. Well worth the "10 minute" wait.
