This place was fantastic. We stayed in the Lopez Suite and it was perfect. Spacious and very well maintained. They had amazing local soaps, sprays, shampoos etc perfect touch! Breakfast was great and delivered to our room. Location couldn't be better just out of the hustle of downtown Friday Harbor but a short walk to the excitement. Our visit was short but I hope I can come back!

Room Tip: The suites offer breakfast delivery!

We don't usually stay in B&B's but this one was recommended to us so we took a chance. It turned out to be a really great choice. The room itself was quite comfortable with a balcony over looking part of the property. The bed as a little soft for me but my wife loved it and slept like a baby. Our dogs were welcomed and they were quite comfortable as well. There is a little dog play area right in the middle of the property so it was very convenient. On top of that there are two parks right next door. The hotel is walking distance to the downtown area and close to the ferry. The ferry announcer can be a little loud if you are trying to sleep in on a weekday but we really have no complaints. We will likely be staying here again when we come back.

My husband and I stayed in one of the cabins off the main house earlier this year. We couldn't have been more pleased! The proprietor is flexible and accommodating. We arrived late, went into the main house to get the key, and let ourselves into our cabin. Everything was clean and ready to go. We had a small kitchen, and a small sitting room. (The bathroom was very small, which would be our only complaint, but this is also reflected in the price of this particular cabin.) The staff brought a wonderful breakfast to our room each day, which we enjoyed sitting in our little kitchen looking out at the patio. We had a car for our visit, and the parking was close, but we were also well within walking distance of the town. Because of the small kitchen we were able to make ourselves lunch each day before setting out, which saved us a bunch of money. One afternoon, when we happened to be sitting at our little table inside, one of the staff popped by with some newly baked cookies. Other than the breakfast and cookie service, we never had to talk to anyone! We just came and went, as though it was our own little home. Perfect for us.

Green Features: Kitchens are environmentally-friendly because you can make your own meals, and coffee, and such and reduce packaging and disposable stuff you otherwise get from to-go orders. The kitchen is stocked with dishes and glasses, etc. Plus, we re-used our towels.

A comfortable, relaxing 2 week stay that felt more like being with friends than lodging. Quaint rooms, each with its own personality. Very pet friendly. Homemade, local-ingredient breakfasts, a perfect invite to the day. Close to ferry and all town's attractions. Staff went ABOVE & BEYOND to help & make my stay wonderful

The inn is at the top of a hill just up from the ferry landing. This location is great to be able to access all that Friday Harbour has to offer and do it on foot.

The room was very clean and large. There was a complete kitchen and they supply juice, milk and tea/coffee. As it is an Inn you see very little of management unlike a B&B.

Erin met us and was very informative as to things to see on the island. I would estimate one needs about 2 full days to see everything the island has to offer.

THe location proved to be very quiet even though right in town. This is also a great location to be able to queue up your vehicle on the return ferry trip and still be able to walk back to the inn.

I think the breakfast could be a little better. In addition the bathroom although very clean had the cupboards beaten up and could use replacement. The bathroom had a hugh double shower with rain shower heads.

My wife and I visited San Juan Island (the poor man’s Martha’s Vineyard) from Aug 6 to 8, and stayed at the Tucker house Inn after reading all the glowing reports on Trip Advisor. The most popular features seem to be the warmth of the innkeepers and the sumptuous breakfast. We did not experience either of those. After we checked in with a staff member, we twice saw only non-English speaking staff. We were assigned an 8:30 A.M. time for breakfast at the “café.” Unfortunately, they were unable to accommodate us with a later time. When we went to the breakfast room the first morning promptly at 8:30, the main table was already filled (by four other couples) and we were delegated to a separate (felt like the kiddie table at Thanksgiving) table in an adjoining room. The three course breakfast was granola, grits, and cheesecake. We were not served until the staff carried out tray after tray to other guests who chose to eat in their rooms. We skipped their breakfast on the second morning and ate in town.

The outside maintenance of the buildings was well done. The inside not so much. The wood molding in the bathrooms had extensive water damage. It took about three minutes to get hot water (they should invest in a recirculation pump), and the drains were slow. The rooms lacked phones (our cell phone service was spotty) and clocks.

The inn was very quiet in the evening. The innkeeper who checked us in bragged about the wonderful jetted tub, but warned us not to use it after 9:00 P.M. We were also warned that we would be fined up to $200 for excessive noise after 9:00.

The location was ideal for Friday Harbor. This may be the best thing about the Tucker House Inn.

Hi!

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay. We are sorry that your welcome wasn't warm and effusive. During the summer we have a full team of innkeepers and housekeepers on duty throughout the day. If you don't see one of us around, we are just a phone call away. We are either readying rooms, preparing for breakfast, working in the gardens or making activity reservations for guests.

Breakfast is one of those areas where we excel. Chef Molly creates three course affairs that include house made granola and Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit, a hot entrée and a sweet treat for dessert. The morning you were here, we served a southern style egg benedict built on a bed of creamy grits with local greens and a farm fresh egg as our hot entrée offering.

If there was a maintenance issue that needed attention during your stay, we wish you would have let us know so we could have addressed it immediately. Our guests' comfort is our primary concern.

Thank you again for writing and we do hope to have the pleasure of hosting you at the Inn another time when your travels bring you to the Pacific Northwest and the Inns' always open door.

With kind regards,

am

We stayed two nights in Jenny´s cottage, which has a king size bed, a dining table with four chairs, separate fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a separate porch. It is a wooden cottage with brown colors inside, but that was perfect as the sun was shining all day long outside. We were heartly welcomed and left our luggage in the reception area, until our cottage was ready (we arrived at 11.15 am). The breakfast varies every morning and was homemade and very good. The bed mattress was too soft for us, but the bed is so wide that we could find less soft areas.
It is not inexpensive to have a cottage for yourself, but if you use the facilities more than we did, I think it is priceworth.

The location is perfect, because it only takes you seven minutes to walk from the ferry landing to the inn.
