“Good location and quiet comfortable room”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

We stayed in August 2013, room was very clean, comfortable and featured a very large bathroom (Note we were in the Hacienda part of the Hotel) Location is good right across the street from the Railyard district and a 10 minute walk to the plaza. But the best part of the stay was the happy hour upstairs in one of the suites from 4 to 7 pm every evening, sitting outside watching the sunset and then walking to one of favorite restaurants for dinner. Would stay again.

This was my first trip to the Hacienda Resort. It will not be my last. The suite was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff was very responsive to all our needs. I have never had butler service before, but it was very nice. The resort staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the hotel, the amenities and the surrounding area. Although we had a car we used the shuttle service as it was so convenient. The spa itself was a beautiful retreat, very calming and relaxing. The services were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the 2 hour lavender spirit body treatment. I plan to come back again next year for a spa vacation.

I loved this hotel and would stay again in a heartbeat! The rooms are relatively basic, but clean and comfortable with good beds, pillows and bedding. It feels classy without being posh. We stayed with our 5 year old son and two dogs, and all felt welcomed.

The pool and hot tub are wonderful-- small, enclosed in a nice adobe courtyard with beautiful landscaping and seating/ chaises, and big, soft pool towels. The pool atmosphere is definitely one of relaxation-- mostly older folks, and we did feel like we needed to keep our son hushed a bit more than was natural for a 5 year old, but everyone was friendly.

Parking is all within an adobe wall surrounding the hotel grounds, so feels reasonably secure and tranquil for while dogs are in the car. Also, lots of trees, so ample shade, though you may need to move the car around as the sun moves to keep shade. The hotel did also offer to walk the dogs, but like in most hotels, they are not allowed to be left unattended in the room. The pet fee is per dog, per night ($20)-- a little steep. We debated on whether to board or bring, and though this hotel is indeed dog friendly, next time I would leave them at home-- Santa Fe's sun is intense.

The location is unbeatable if you are traveling for contemporary art, as we were-- right across the street from SITE and the railyard area galleries. It is also an EASY walk to the plaza if you're in marginally good shape-- our 5 year old did it repeatedly without complaint, and the walk is flat and fun through old Santa Fe's downtown. The hotel shuttle does allow dogs-- we didn't take advantage of this, but it seems like a nice amenity if you're not up for the walk (or your dog is not?).

In short: tranquil, authentic-feeling, clean and comfortable-- exactly the ticket if you want nice amenities without getting into the luxury hotel price point.

This hotel left a bit to desired. The staff wasn't very knowledgeable about things within the hotel. The room was small and the bathroom was so small that when you opened the bathroom door you hit the toilet! Also, the room really needed maintenance. Paint was peeling on the veranda and water marks on the ceiling. All in all, pretty unimpressive.

I am certainly distressed that you were disappointed with your stay and please accept my apologies for our shortcomings.

We will track down this room, as ceiling and veranda problems are not acceptable!

We enjoyed our week long stay at this independent, native owned hotel. The staff are very friendly. The shuttle service is handy esp with the ever changing fall weather. Be sure to check out the restaurant and the gift shop for artisan work (on some weekends there are unique personalities to chat with). As I mentioned the concierge team is made up of an informative, charming group of women.

After a year, we returned to Santa Fe for the Fiesta de Santa Fe in September. Once again, we stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe and were more than pleased with the service, the staff, and the many amenities available to us. Everything at this hotel says "welcome". It has been and continues to be our hotel of choice. It ranks A+ for all around consistency and excellence!!

I just spent a very special time with friends and family at the Hotel Santa Fe Hacienda and Spa. We stayed at the hotel while in Santa Fe to attend a wedding. The service at the hotel was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free shuttle service around town meant we didn't have to worry with a car. The rooms were lovely and beds were very comfortable. Loved the shower in the hacienda rooms!
The free breakfast at the hacienda was a very nice amenity and we enjoyed meeting up with friends there each morning. It was a lovely experience and I highly recommend the hotel if you are planning a trip to Santa Fe.

Room Tip: Love the rooms in the hacienda. Enjoyed the spa.
