We planned a family reunion over Thanksgiving in Santa Fe. My niece selected the Hotel Santa Fe as our resting place. Between the three families involved, we booked 8 rooms. The bellman/desk clerk, Jonathan, actually smiled as he helped me to my room with 2 suitcases, five tins of cookies, assorted small bundles, 3 coats, boots, a hat and a somewhat discombobulated senior citizen. Later when I needed a piano for our 12 year old aspiring pianist, they allowed us access to the piano in the Hacienda's lounge. That's going above and beyond hospitality. Two people got massages and one had a facial. They all reported that they were THE BEST EVER. I had a Junior Suite and it was comfortable though the bathroom isa bit tight and I hate minibars! There is a small safe in the room but it is extremely hard to find the first time!

Room Tip: You might try to get a room that does not overlook the parking lot and is not over the kitchen area...

In my line of work I visit and evaluate destinations and write hotel property reviews. This was my first time at this hotel and it was not disappointing.

Great staff and quick check in. I received a great bargain since my visit was the weekend prior to thanksgiving (Santa Fe is dead). The hotel room was comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. Plenty of pillows and warm blankets- appreciated because it snowed. I was in a suite with plenty of space. The bathrooms are small, but expected for historic or vintage properties. Sadly rooms do not have kiva fireplaces (Inn at Lorretto has decorative ones in rooms lit by candle). The hotel gym is fantastic, they even offer complimentary 715am Yoga! Hotel Santa Fe rooms have updated flat tv's and coffee makers. Complimentary morning coffee stations are also placed on every floor lobby- a great touch and much appreciated. Another great feature is convenient, free, self parking that is easy in and out. I was not assessed a dreaded "resort fee" also greatly appreciated. For breakfast I dined in the hotel restaurant- "eh"; the food was pricy and lacked flavor, it was just "eh". Hotel Santa Fe is only 2 min walk to Tamatillo's Restaurant- I heavily recommend it, great authentic food, excellent price.

Would I stay here again? Without hesitation.

Overall; this premium property is a great value. Beautiful and well kept grounds and authentically nicely decorated inside.

I hope this helps in your decision making process.

Drive Safe, JJ

We spent three nights here in early November, 2013. We had a one-bedroom suite in the Hacienda portion of the hotel, and paid only $225 per night. Our suite included a free breakfast, and afternoon hors doevres and drinks. The room was extremely comfortable with lots of room. The hotel also has a wonderful spa and fitness center, and we enjoyed one meal at the restaurant. The hotel is well situated, about 1o minutes from The Plaza, the hub of tourist attractions in Santa Fe, including the plaza itself, and great museums. We especially were happy to discover a lovely park across the street from the hotel, which is a wonder of modern day urban planning. What was once a railroad yard for trains to turn around is now a lovely park to take a stroll in on a sunny morning. On Saturday morning the park is the site of a fabulous farmers market. All in all we loved Santa Fe and loved the hotel, and a lovely suite for $225 a night made it a great value.

Room Tip: The hotel is in two parts, Hotel Santa Fe, and Hacienda. The Hacienda is a little more expensine, a...

My wife and I have stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe six times over the last five years. We have stayed in the regular rooms, but for a little more, we've been delighted with the Junior Suite, with a couch, extra chairs and other amenities, so that we can entertain local friends.
The staff has always been extremely polite, knowledgeable, and highly efficient, from front desk staff to bellmen to drivers. Did I say drivers?: The HSF has two British cabs and a small bus for complimentary drop offs and pickups to anywhere in the area you want to visit.
The Amaya Restaurant inside the hotel has reasonably priced - and delicious - meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I'm a light sleeper, so I've always appreciated the solid soundproofing of the rooms.
And their consideration in case of an emergency: several years ago, due to blizzards closing all of the local Interstates and highways (40 and 25), we had to cancel our reservation on the same day as our arrival. The policy, as is with all hotels, is to charge for the first night's stay. But, since they had received a number of other weather-caused cancellations, they did not charge us for that first night's stay. That was a tremendous consideration on their part!
The hotel is just about six blocks from the Santa Fe Plaza and is just short walk to the rapidly growing Railyard Arts District.
Tons of free parking on the hotel grounds.
We will be back again in the Spring to enjoy the hotel and Santa Fe again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony - no extra charge, but put the request in ASAP.

We spent a long weekend at the Hacienda for my birthday in September, and it could not have been more perfect. The hotel was terrific. The grounds were beautiful, the room was well appointed and immaculate, and the service was extraordinary. Continental breakfast and happy hour were included daily, and both were really gracious.

We flew into Santa Fe so only rented a car for the one day we drove to Taos. The rest of the time, we used the shuttle service, which was unbelievably convenient. They provided transport to and from the airport. Because the hotel is about 4 blocks from the downtown area and quite a way from Museum Hill, the shuttle was available to take us wherever we wanted to go, day and night, and picked us up promptly when we called. The shuttle drivers were great, providing great info about restaurants and places to see.

We fell in love with Santa Fe, and when we return, we will definitely stay at the Hacienda.

Room Tip: We had requested a specific room but it was not available.

We're traveling coast to coast with out two standard poodles, more like our kids than dogs if you know what I mean. From the front desk to the understated Butler services we felt like we were staying with family.
I recommend staying in the Hacienda (floors 4-6), head upstairs around 4:30 where the Bulter has a roaring fire in the fireplace, adult beverages and a stellar view of the sunset. The rooms were generously sized with gas fireplaces and Southwest Chic decor.
The location is a ways from he shopping district but there is a free shuttle for everything you need.
We'll be back for more Native hospitality!

Room Tip: Go for the Hacienda side 35 rooms to choose from

The hotel was very nice. The beds were comfortable and the restaurant was excellent but the price was above what it should be. We were quoted $107.00 a night, with tax $147.00 plus and additional $18.00 for amenities. The breakfast cost $11.00. Oatmeal, cereal, juice, or sweet roll were the options. One highlight, the coffee was free

I am sorry to learn that you think we are expensive especially when compared to the competition here and elsewhere!!

Amongst many things, we have the highest living wage at $10.51 per hour and the highest water rates in the country!! FYI

Wishing you safe travels.
