“A week at Hotel Santa Fe”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Attractive and Comfortable hotel in an area close to shops and restaurants near the Railyard. Rooms a bit small and as I had a suite it too was tight, with a tiny balcony. The bathroom fixtures need some work as my bath/shower drain selector was not working. Paint peeling on outside doors to patio. I highly recommend the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Very delicious food with a surprisingly creative menu and excellent service. Early coffee available at 7am on each floor-wished it was at 6 as breakfast is served at 7. Flavored water available all day in Lobby.
Did not note any employees offering to help with carting suitcases to or from room. Noisy in hallways from cleaning people and guests slamming doors at an early hour.

Room Tip: Room facing the pool area can be noisy with children swimming below.

Thank you for spending a week with us and I am sorry to learn that your bath/shower selector was not working property and hopefully you brought it to our attention and it was fixed!!

We are continuing to replace all our wood framed guestroom outside doors with new clad ones and I apologize for any inconvenience you were caused.

Staff was professional and helpful with all our needs. The hotel itself was quiet and has a very relaxing atmosphere in restaurant and lounge. On Friday and Saturday nights they have authentic native american music in the lounge. Loved the jalapenos margaritas at the bar. We did make use of the shuttles to downtown on a daily basis and we were told in advance there was a daily fee listed as a tax for this service. Shuttles were very prompt for us. Our room was clean and comfortable, but could have been larger. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Ask to be away from kitchen on bottom floor.

Green Features: Hotel politely reminds you to conserve water by washing only towels, washcloths you leave on the floor. Shower appears to be a water conserving shower head.

We booked and paid for our "Discounted" supposedly to $140 a night paid in advance. In the morning there is a receipt under the door for $20. For a service fee. It is a standard charge we are told for services the hotel offers. Like the "Free" WIFI that did not work so we couldn't use it. The "Free" Purple Cars we didn't use because there was only one driver and we would have to wait too long. The room was really small. We both need CPAP. There were no plugs near the bed at all.The desk was the only surface to set things on or use but it was full of a big basket of not food sugary items and water they wanted you to buy and the ice bucket. Finally the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. So I used my phone not their WiFI(not!) To find another hotel

This hotel looked so good on-line --- and the common areas and staff and restaurant are wonderful and first-class! They are trying to create an upscale atmosphere -- and it works.
Sadly, however, the rooms, are sub-standard. We booked a suite in the hotel; were told that if we wanted to stay in the Hacienda, we would get a "butler" -- did not need one.
The suites are small, compared to most hotels. We were put in a noisy one (hard to find a quiet one in this hotel) -- but ended up moving to another room because there was a cigarette butt, visible, on the floor. Quite an "ick" factor. They were very good about moving us -- but first showed us to a room where the windows couldn't be opened due to an accumulation of bugs, dirt and spider webs! The hotel's air-conditioning unit was right at the bedroom window! Finally got to a room we could sleep in -- however, all three rooms had old, frayed, dirty
furniture (except for the bed, which was quite comfortable); lamps were broken in each room, and the head of housekeeping had to check each room to ensure that it was actually cleaned well. Repairs to walls, ceilings, etc -- sloppy, poor workmanship, all apparently done "on the cheap".
Rooms are not cheap here -- and there are other, better quality looking hotels in town.
Location: perfect for us...easy walking distance to the old town and general sites.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room -- and not on the first floor. Rooms at the front of the hotel are on a main d...

I am sorry to learn that you were so unhappy with us from the moment you arrived which you made clear to our Front Desk staff - also on our comment cards - and now with tripadvisor.com??!!

It is difficult to fathom why you continued to stay with us for several nights. We are certainly not perfect and if one wants to find fault it can certainly be accomplished!

I am sorry we let you down, but wish you happy travels, wherever they may be.

Just returned froma five day stay in a Hacienda room. The location was great near the new railyard area.If you're not a walker the hotel offers complimentary transportation to the immediate plaza area and Canyon Road. A very nice private breakfast buffet for the Hacienda wing and a free wine, beer and cheese ahppy hour from 5-7 everyday. The majority owners are a local Pueblo tribe. The gift shop is great. The restaurant is very good and the pool and spa are also warm and inviting. We did not take advantage of the spa but that will be on our next visit.

Room Tip: Loved our room on 4th floor (really the first floor) facing West.

Hotel Santa Fe, The Hacienda and Spa, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 4/22-29/2014
We spent a week (7 days) in the Hotel Santa Fe Hacienda & Spa, located near the local arts center, Site Santa Fe. The hotel is located on Paseo de Peralto, and bordered by Guadalupe Street on the West, Cerrillos Road on the East, and Manhattan Road on the north. Guadalupe Street has a variety of shops, restaurants and nightlife activities. The hotel provides free shuttle service to downtown Santa Fe day and night.

We stayed in Hotel Santa on many trips to Santa Fe and love the fact that it is an Indian owned and managed hotel, with it’s quiet courtesy and unique arts and culture displayed in every area of the hotel.

We had a Deluxe King Suite on the 3rd floor, which was relatively quiet. The hotel claims this is the largest King Bedroom in the hotel, but it did not feel as spacious as King Suites we have stayed in at other hotels. Nevertheless, it’s perfect for a couple on the go, and the price is right at $181/Sun-Thurs. and $207. Fri-Sat.

I love the tea and coffee station set out early in the morning in the foyer outside the elevators on every floor. No need to go down to the lobby to get your cup of Joe, and a wide variety of fine teas are provided.

The King Suite is separated from a small living room by an open archway. On the right as you walk in to the room is a mini-bar, microwave and a tall mini-fridge, big enough to hold drinks and sandwiches. There is an in-room safe. The living room is decorated in southwestern fabrics, handmade natural pine furniture and wooden blinds. There is a couch/sofa bed, a coffee table, and a comfortable leather chair. Along the wall is a wood bureau, writing desk, and flat screen TV with cable.

The bedroom itself is very pretty and quiet, although space is tight.

An interesting design is the Triangular Bureau, set into the wall. Note when clothing is added it weighs the drawer down just enough to avoid an avalanche!

The bathroom design is similar to what you find in economy hotels. There is a tiny foyer set within the bedroom itself with a mirror, granite countertop and hairdryer. There’s not much room for grooming items for 2 people.

The shower is separated from the vanity area by a wooden door, which is a bit heavy to slide open.

The bathroom itself has a nice tile floor, a pre-fabricated tub and a small toilet. The shower heat/cold knob was not working properly when we checked in. Maintenance came promptly and put on a new knob for us.

Overall, the King Bedroom is cozy and sufficient for our needs, as we are out of the hotel most of the time. Rooms are generally quiet no matter where they are located in the hotel.

The common areas of Hotel Santa Fe are beautiful and the service is always gracious.

I highly recommend this hotel.

Don’t forget to check out the fabulous Sage Bakery just across the street from the Hotel, and the shops along Guadalupe Street. Art Galleries and a running trail are nearby in the Railrunner depot area.

Room Tip: Choose a room off the back parking lot which is quieter. The hotel shuttle picks up travelers from t...
