“Ideal location, but lousy room”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

The hotel staff was extremely accommodating, and the common areas of the hotel were warm and inviting. The daily breakfast was more than adequate. The location is excellent, within walking distance to all of the galleries, shops and restaurants. Our primary issue with this hotel was the terrible room we were assigned. The room was small, with almost no walking space around the bed, ceilings were very low, and the bathroom shelf was supported by cheap brackets that one would use in the garage. The room felt like a cheap hotel. When we mentioned our displeasure at check-out, we were told that we were given a lower grade room because we had booked through a third-party, specifically Hotels.com. Fortunately, our visit was all about the art, so we spent little time in the room.

Thank you for appreciating our excellent location. October is our highest occupancy month of the year so it sounds like we did not have the option of offering you a larger room. While it is not our practice to give the smallest room on the property simply by virtue of a guest booking on line, the issue with booking through some of the on line agents is that we do not have the opportunity to contact you to give you any information regarding the room you have booked. It is the practice of the Inn to confirm every reservation with details so that our guest knows exactly what to expect before arrival. Unfortunately we were unable to do so in your case as no contact information was available with the reservation. We strongly advise booking directly with the hotel for the best experience.

My husband and I just spent a week at this Inn over the Christmas holiday. The entire staff is outstanding - friendly and helpful beyond expectations. Chef Jan produced a wonderful authentic New Mexican Christmas Eve Buffet. Location is perfect for walking to most attractions and the Happy Hour is a great way to end your day. Thank you for an extraordinary experience!

This inn is soooo romantic ...
The room needed a little more lighting, but everything else was wonderful.
we couldn't eat dinner at the inn, as they were fixing the kitchen. But breakfast was wonderful.

Thank you for taking to time to share your enjoyment of the Inn with others. Unfortunately we did have to close the kitchen for 1 night while we made a necessary floor repair. I certainly hope you can enjoy our menu on your next visit.

We are in the process of replacing all lighting with LEDS which actually will provide a better quality of light while saving energy.

Hope to see you back at the Inn on your next trip to Santa Fe.

I stayed here again as I always do when I travel to Santa Fe. This time I had a deluxe room with a fireplace. It was Room #157 and it was lovely and quiet. It had a small patio and was located on the first floor. I didn't use the patio since it was winter. The inn was wonderful and the service was excellent. Each night I took the shuttle to a different restaurant. I called the inn when I was ready to be picked up and the shuttle was right on time. I've stayed at other places in Santa Fe, but this is the best. The staff is wonderful and the front desk is very helpful. I will definitely come back. Congratulations to Christine and her staff!

Have stayed here several times and with each visit it gets better. Free parking. Diane at the front desk is so personable and knowledgeable. She takes the time to assist you. The full breakfast has a lot of choices and very good. It's complimentary along with happy hour from 4-5pm. Will be going for christmas week and will go up canyon drive for the farolitos walk at dusk, then to midnight mass at the cathedral. The hotel has been nicely renovated. We will be staying in a casita with a fireplace. We've stayed in a room on the ground floor with two double beds with an enclosed patio, which was very nice.

This was our first time to Santa Fe, so we were not sure what to expect. This was a quaint hotel within walking distance of a lot of shopping and a number of restaurants. The staff was all helpful and welcoming. We had a great suite, the room was very clean and we really enjoyed the fireplace, it adds a lot of charm. The only negative of the room was the art on the walls was looking pretty tired, but all the furniture was in good condition. We definitely enjoyed breakfast and happy hour each day by the beautiful lobby fireplace.

The Inn on the Alameda is a great place, 2 blocks from the square and one block from the street with all the galleries on it. The room we had had a lovely kiva fire place. The main house at the inn has a lovely living room with a fire place and an bright and cozy breakfast room, also with a fire place where free wine and cheese is served in the afternoons. It was private but also quite social. Would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Santa Fe. Staff is very helpful and will even come and light the fire in your fire place.

Room Tip: Website shows the different room configurations so definitely check it out first! I choose one that...
