Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground

Very easy on and off I 25 just east of Santa Fe. Really appreciated the 11 am check in with the 22 acres covered in classic pinon, juniper and cacti; great little hiking trail across the top of the property. Typical for a RV campground with clean showers/ restrooms; hook-ups and various options for camping. Again, easy to head into Santa Fe by one of the best roads in, the Old Santa Fe trail that will take you right to the Roundhouse [our capitol] and Paseo de Peralta, that circles downtown. Continuing straight in will bring you right to the Plaza.

We arrived here about 2 minutes before the office closed. We had booked a tent site but the night was forecasted to be cold and we were tired from a longer than expected drive and later than expected arrival. I asked a couple of questions about the cabins (thinking it might be worth it to upgrade), and despite the fact that they were on the verge of closing the office, they offered to show us a cabin so we could decide if it would suit us. Suit us it did and we changed our reservation on the spot to a cabin. The cabin was lovely with a little table, nice mattresses (bring your own blankets) and some storage to boot. The heater wasn't a match for the low temperatures but it still beat sleeping in a tent, and with our tent heater to help it out we stayed nice and toasty. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was so helpful about everything. Our boys loved running around the place and it really is a beautiful setting. If we ever return to Santa Fe we will stay here again.

This was our first big trip in our 'still being restored' vintage trailer, Naples Florida to Santa Fe NM. I was worried about maneuvering extra long rig but attendant was able to get me through the winding roads to the site with no problem. After 6 days of driving and never really setting up camp it was a joy to finally get the trailer "set up" in such a lovely location. Wife & I are both former Santa Fe'ans and were so happy to find a place with the Santa Fe 'feel'. Clean, pleasant, nice little hiking trail perfect for getting a little blood flow going in the morning while not too strenuous for the non hiker. Only bad thing... The tropical system that had threatened us in Florida actually caught up with us in NM and stayed for the week, lots of rain! Good news, it broke a long standing drought.

Room Tip: I think the sites that are a little tricky to get to are well worth the effort... but they all look...

This was a nice campground with a desert forest walking trail running along the back. We stayed in our tent. The pool is NOT heated, so be prepared. Our August stay was a bit chilly, so we could not enjoy this feature as much. It's set off the road and is a quiet campground! It seemed much better than the KOA down the road a few miles, which sits next to the freeway. We liked the Movie night and old timey theater chairs. Employees very helpful. Gift/food shop had decent pricing. Would stay again.

About 8 miles north of Santa Fe on Old Las Vegas Highway, this RV park is well done. Very adequate pull throughs with full hookups including cable TV and free WiFi. The park is clean and well maintained. The RV sites and roads are gravel, but I don't count that as a negative. The showers are clean and plenty of water pressure and hot water. The WiFi is fast and plenty of signal strength.

This park is just far enough out of town to feel, well, out of town. The sites are wooded and not so close together that you feel you may get to know your neighbor a little too well. We drive a 31' Class A motorhome and had a pull through site, number 111, and found it totally satisfactory for our week in Santa Fe. The park is just off of I-25 and my concerns about excessive freeway noise proved unfounded. Was really quiet even at peak traffic periods.

The bathroom facilities were close, clean and well equipped and the WiFi worked and was reasonably fast. Sites were clean and well maintained, was nice not to see cigarette butts all over the ground like some places we've stayed. Office staff was helpful and while their bags of ice may cost a little more than you are accustomed to paying you get a lot of convenience for that extra 80 cents. They offer Good Sam, AAA and AARP discounts.

We would stay there again and would recommend it to other campers contemplating a trip to Santa Fe.

We enjoyed a shady campsite, clean shower facilities and a swimming pool. Very convenient to downtown Santa Fe. Worked well for our three night stay to attend the opera. Easy access from I25. You can take back roads to downtown and avoid traffic while enjoying better scenery. We were there during the Indian market week and it was nice to get away from the crowds. Pool temp is cool but refreshing once you get used to it.

Room Tip: Ask for a shady site.
