We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hacienda Nicholas. The staff was terrific, very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts were terrific with a flare of the southwest. The location was within walking distance of most downtown venues - restaurants, galleries, museums and the square where we saw a terrific concert. The 5 PM wine and cheese was a nice touch as were the cookies and brownies in the evening.

I would highly recommend this B and B for your stay in Santa Fe.

My wife and I have vacationed in Santa Fe for over 20 years, and this past trip (Aug 8-12) was one of the best ever thanks to Hacienda Nicholas. A charming B&B that caters to your every need. From it's cozy patio breakfasts and wine/cheese, to the large room with every amenity, you can't ask for much more in southwestern flavor and hospitality. The king bed was a delight, the towels soft, wifi and parking are free, the meals outstanding, and the location is perfect and quiet. They have thought of everything, including a flashlight. One night my wife noticed she was missing an earring when we got back to the room after dinner. Using the flashlight in the room I was able to retrace our step and find the earring about 5 minutes from the Inn. We enjoyed our stay so much that we reserved again next year before leaving - and we've never done that before!

Room Tip: Any room on the patio

This was our first trip to Hacienda Nicholas. The hotel is easily found off the Paseo de Peralto around Santa Fe. We arrived in the early afternoon and were met by someone from the B&B, who gave us keys and showed us our room and the common area. In the evening there was wine and light snacks. The room was large with a four poster bed and a beautifully tiled bath. The shower had power and heat. The hotel is at the end of a quiet street and very quiet. It is only about five blocks to the historic plaza. There is off street parking. In the morning we had breakfast (fabulous green chili enchiladas, but bacon and eggs were also available) on their patio. The cook was eager to provide whatever we wanted. We were joined at our table by other guests who were both interesting and fun. We will definitely return to Hacienda Nicholas.

Room Tip: I don't think there's a "bad" room there.

My husband and i have been staying at the Hacienda Nicholas and also the Madeline Inn for many years. We enjoy both facilities, the gracious owner and her staff, and this time staying in Chamisa, which is a charming room right off the patio at the Hacienda. Breakfast is served outdoors in the patio, weather permitting and this year the hummingbird moths were busy sipping the nectar from the garden.

The location is wonderful and the atmosphere so friendly and welcoming. One staff member even loaned me some outer wear for the night at the opera in case it was chilly!

Do stay there when you plan your next trip to Santa Fe.

We had a great trip to Santa Fe and that was because of the wonderful accommodations we had at the Hacienda Nicholas Bed and Breakfast Inn. Carolyn and her staff were eager to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The room was perfect. The pillows and linens were very nice. My husband is picky about his pillows and he had no complaints. The decor was fun with it's southwest theme. The breakfast each morning was abundant and delicious. The staff recommended restaurants, activities, shopping and drives into the countryside. The Inn is walking distance to the Plaza, restaurants and shopping. This was important to us because we didn't want to always be getting our car out and finding a place to park near the Plaza. We had a great time and will definitely return to the Hacienda Nicholas the next time we are in Santa Fe. We have also recommended it to several of our friends.

Room Tip: Our room "Sage" was small, but perfect for a couple.

We stayed in the Nicholas Suite for 6 nights at the end of July 2014. Carolyn, the innkeeper, responded immediately to our two questions soon after we arrived. Merilee, Regan, George, Valerie and the housekeeping staff were also excellent--attentive, recommended restaurants and sights and made reservations. A different, delicious full breakfast was provided every day. There is a beautiful, central patio/garden; also a lovely dining space inside if it is too hot or cold to be outside. The short distance The Plaza was also a big plus. Parking is tight, but adequate. All rooms on the ground floor in the Hacienda Nicholas; The Madeline (a different building across the street) rooms are accessed by stairs.

Room Tip: At the time of making a reservation, ask about anything that is of concern to you, i.e., A/C, stairs...

We decided to reserve here after reading reviews in Trip Advisor. The location is very central and Santa Fe is one of best city in US. The owner, Carolyn and Mary Ann, daytime staff were extra helpful. They make sure everyone is satisfied with their stay. The decoration of both of the inns( specially common areas) was done very tastefully. Bravo ! The breakfast menu was changing daily and it was always delicious. You must try the homemade granola with vanilla yogurt! Definitely will stay again. Thank you Hacienda Nicholas !
