The Center has everything anyone could want in a club. It is just a great place. Recently the pricing changed and there were some oversights there...like...if the day rate is $6 and the month rate is 65...and most people work out 2-3 days a week - what is the "break" point of the month price over just pay as you go?....better to have the monthly rate be a bit lower to make sense. Don't like the fact that the "15 visit" punch pass has been eliminated as that is the MOST effective way to use the facilities without wasting money! The alternative is just not to go ie: not to work out...and that is not healthy. Health facilities should really be encouraging // making it easy for people to get a work out in!! That was really a bad choice. Also...there should be family rates advertised and posted...as well as corporate rates. Just make it easy without making us call in. We really wish that the memberships were simply city wide...so we could use any of the facilities and not have to pay for each one. But...overall, Santa Fe has some really nice options for recreation and Chavez is one of them!

The Genoveva Center is a huge sporting/fitness complex in Santa Fe, New Mexico. If you have tired out by hiking the mountains or Canyon Road shopping the Center is a great way to relax and refresh. They have a huge children's pool with slide, lap pool and aquatic pool area. There is Ice Skating, pick-up basketball and indoor soccer games and workout equipment. Fees are quite reasonable.

Stayed in Santa Fe for 4 nights. As a year-round swimmer, I was delighted to use the Olympic size pool every morning for just 6 bucks a day, since my community pool in MD is not that big. It was a treat! They change the lanes from length-wise to width-wise during the week, supposedly for those who have trouble swimming the full length. ? Regardless, I enjoyed my swim each day, and used the jetted and warm therapy pool to relax after my swim. The womens' locker room was fine. Wish they had a swimsuit spinner for drying one's suit afterwards -- but hey, the pool was fabulous! Can't wait to return when I vacation in SF again.

This is truly one of the nicest public recreation centers I've ever experienced. It has essentially all the facilities and equipment one can imagine. However, accessing equipment on the weekends can be challenging, as is finding a parking space. Give yourself plenty of time, or simply skip the Saturday and Sunday morning workouts. Also, the front desk staff can use a little training on guest service. It's nothing an occassional smile or eye contact couldn't cure ...
