The front desk staff person was rude and uncaring. When she checked us in it felt like we were listening to a recording - something that she had said a thousand times before and cared absolutely nothing about.
The worst part is that a few weeks later we found out that they had charged both our credit card and our check card for the room. I have been calling them for the past week trying to find someone who can fix this problem, but every time I call I get a rude employee who says I have to speak to a manager, who never happens to be there when I call. I have left my name and number three times asking for this manager to call me back, but he never does. Getting very frustrated...
Will never stay there again and will actively discourage anyone else from staying there.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

This is our 3rd stay at this hotel and it is good, considering how inexpensive it is. It is detached from the casino, so the hotel and rooms do not smell like smoke. We have stayed here and also at much nicer and fancier Buffalo Thunder Resort down the road: two very different properties at two very different price ranges. We will stay at either hotel, depending on how much we are willing to spend! This hotel is definitely a good choice.

The good:
It is inexpensive (we paid about $100 less here than a the more upscale Buffalo Thunder Resort a couple of miles down the road). The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom was a bit worn out; however, it was clean and didn't smell funny or musty. It was comfortable, and best of all, very quiet.

The bad:
The furniture is outdated, and the bathroom could use new fixtures.

We would stay here agaiin.

The hotel is old and dated. it is clean but needs an update. The front desk was nice and helpful. But when we ask for enough towels for the 4 adults we had in our room we were told that we could only get 2. still didn't have enough towels.

Room Tip: stay some where else

Want a drink, some cards or video poker in a laid back atmosphere? Then avoid the casino, because you won't find it here. Alcohol is only served in a cheezy nightclub where the security outnumbers the patrons. There aren't even chairs for the bar and the only friendly bartender was overshadowed by the staff who were agitated by something, as if there was a massive line or a bunch of drunks. Won't go back.

The lady at the front check in desk was not friendly. We had no hot water in the morning and were told we were the only ones to complained. No one had a hot shower. When we spoke to the lady at the front desk. She was very uncaring and never apologized for the in convince. And said well you pre paid for your room so that's it. We asked to speak to the manager and was informed mark the manager would not be in till after noon. Had to ask for marks business card which did not even have his name on in. Had to write his name down myself. Plz do not stay here it's not worth 180 a night. I recommend buffalo thunder and I wish they were not full so we could of stayed there. Their customer service was great just visiting the casino. Will never stay or recommend to stay here to anyone.

Went to lay down n felt something weird inside my pillow...it was a huge sewing needle. When we called the front desk they said they would be right up. They never showed! We took the pillow to the front desk n the lady thought it was funny n just apologized! When we asked for the manager they said there wasn't one available. We asked for the number and they said they didn't have the number !!! Really??? I will never stay here again

We were visiting in Santa Fe for five days and wanted to find an inexpensive place to stay. The COG Hotel was basic no-frills comfort. The King bed gave an excellent night's sleep--and after a day at the Balloon Fiesta-- we needed the sleep. The facility was pretty worn and not exceptionally well maintained. However, the staff went overboard to be helpful.
