“Great Hidden Gem”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

We had heard from friends that Midtown Bistro was a "must try" and having tried their key lime pie at the Pie Mania event this past November it had been on our list of places to try. We were not disappointed! The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and very clean, and we were fortunate to be seated by the window that overlooks rock sculptures of Santa Fe Stone. We started the meal with the bread basket which included 2 tiny blueberry muffins and a cinnamon roll. Both were fresh and tasty. Three of the 4 of us ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, which was topped with perfectly ripened avocado, bacon, mozzarella cheese and a slightly spicy mayo. The bread was fresh, the chicken was tender and the combination was deemed delicious by all of us. The sandwich was accompanied by a large serving of their homemade lemon pepper potato chips. YUM! The fourth member of our party ordered the ruby trout and when she asked if she could sub the red potato hash for the risotto, the response was, "Of course." She found the trout flavorful and perfectly cooked and enjoyed the hash. She thought the green olive sundried tomato salsa was an excellent addition. The four of us shared 2 slices of the key lime pie for dessert. It was as remembered- possibly the best we'd ever had. The graham cracker crust held together well and had just the crunch and the custardy filling had just the right bite. The service was excellent from start to finish. We were greeted warmly at the door, the staff was helpful and attentive without being obtrusive and there always seemed to be someone there to take empty plates away or refill glasses. We are looking forward to trying lunch or dinner next.

“Dinner with a Date”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

We came here the first time back in December because we were given a gift certificate. The service and food were amazing so we went back for my Bday in January. We have eaten at a lot of Santa Fe restaurants and so far these guys have beaten them all for service, quality of food, presentation of food and the wait staff. (not sure why bad comments made about wait staff cause our waiter was not a teenager and was very knowledgeable our buser was quick and polite) Yes it is a little pricey (20 to 30 dollars a piece), but less than other Santa Fe restaurants who have poor quality food and bad service. Our waiter remembered us when we walked in and they seated us right away. The steaks are top choice regional beef, free range chicken and local produce combined with the chefs ability and presentation make this an awesome eating experience. At dinner the chef sends out little samples of items on the menu or a specialty they want to highlight and so far they have been delectable. All in all we will recommend Mid Town Bistro to our friends and we will be back for more of this delectable food in 2014. Only negative thing we saw was a lack of people who know about it so the dinning room so far has never been full and really is that such a bad thing in Santa Fe?

“Fine Family Dine In”
Reviewed 6 January 2014 via mobile

From the moment you walk in you warmly welcome to the Midtown Bistro. Everyone is well dressed clean cut and well respected. Service goes with saying one of a kind. Well the family and I ate the great entree that was served from the neat and organized menu, there was a Surprise party going on for a beautiful lady who almost broke down by how beautiful and we'll put together everything was for her very special 50th Birthday. Was very very pleased with every aspect of experience inside and out, very clean.

“Fine Food in a Pleasant Atmosphere”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

I have had brunch, lunch and dinner at Midtown Bistro and am partial to the brunches and lunches there. I have eaten both indoors and out and have enjoyed both environments.

“Lovely brunch - looking forward to trying lunch and dinner”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

We happened by the Midtown Bistro, which came highly recommended by friends, for Sunday brunch. It was a tad chilly, but we felt like fresh air and asked if we could sit outside on the patio and were promptly seated there with excellent coffee (regular refills without asking, a big plus for me) and an unusual and appealing menu to consider. I had the poached eggs with avocado tomato and spicy hollandaise (an interesting twist on eggs benedict), which was just wonderfully good and different. Not too much avocado, not too spicy, just right, perfectly done. My wife had the ruby trout with risotto and English peas. She is very picky, so a strong recommendation from her is worth a lot, and she loved her meal as well. Service was excellent. The orange juice was so good we had refills, and all the little things (like butter soft not hard) were just right. I'm looking forward to going back for lunch and dinner.
