Description: The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am Saturday and Sunday which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, Steak & Eggs and Huevos Rancheros.

Being a Santa Fe resident, I eat at Santa Fe Bite. Sometimes dining in but others take out. The last two times I have had the green chile cheese burger and ordered it medium well, it has come out medium or less. Yucky.
The last time I ate in, the waiter was terrible. Ignoring us while sitting with his friends at the table right behind us...and it was off hours so the place had 2 tables with guests.
I am never going back. Such a shame as this restauarant has had such a great reputation for a very long time but is truly lacking now! C’mon people, get it together. Please.

Excellent, excellent green chile hamburger. My companion had the turkey sandwich and she stated it was very good.

I'm sorry to write a copy cat review. But here it is. This cute little diner serves up an awesome green-chile burger. The meat is top shelf and ground in-house. The owners have even built their own grill to make sure you get a great burger every time. We put in four different burger requests from bloody rare to medium well and each burger was done to perfection. We went for the fries instead of the house-made chips and they were crisp and tasty. By the way, they serve a great iceberg wedge salad here. It's smothered with bacon, purple onions a blue cheese dressing loaded with chunks of blue cheese. You can also get an old-timey milk shake. If you can make room for it, it's well worth the calories. The rest of the menu looked good too but make sure someone gets the burger. It's just that good.

Four of us stopped by for lunch just before Sunday noon. Got right in, but the place was packed within minutes. Meals for the four of us ran the gamut.... steak, salad, fried chicken and a soup/salad/sandwich combo. Four thumbs up. Was a beautiful cool day to sit outside on the patio, too.

My husband and I throughly enjoyed the green chile hamburger and they were fairly priced. The service was good.
