Description: Osteria d'Assisi was opened in 1995, in a renovated home in the historic downtown district of Santa Fe. The restaurant is named after the city of Santa Fe's patron saint, Saint Francis, who was born in the town of Assisi in Italy. Osteria d'Assisi features regional Italian cuisine, utilizing the time honored Mediterranean approach to preparing food with olive oil and fresh ingredients. Our menu includes fresh seafood, locally grazed beef, veal and lamb, house made pasta, fresh bread baked daily, gourmet pizza and creative desserts.

The veal scallopini was only OK, the zucca ravioli inedible, the funghi veal ravioli was pretty bad. The lasagna sat uneaten. The calamari was good. Atmosphere was that of an expensive restaurant, with prices to match.

Nice ambience, good wine list, nice range of entrees and appetizers (and great deserts). The lamb shanks were lamb (not mutton) and the vegetables cooked perfectly. Have the vanilla gelato with strawberries for desert.

Had been once in 2012 and thought the meal was great, so went back again a few months later -- everything had changed! The server brought me something that I had not ordered (twice -- first for my salad, and then the main course). She denied that what I had ordered for the main course was even on the menu, so I had to make her bring it over and point out that it was on the menu, and she had brought me something else. If the food had been as good as the first time, I probably would have suffered through the terrible service, but it wasn't. It was mediocre at best. We haven;t been back since. I now wait for travel to one of the Coasts to eat Italian food. So much other great food in SF, don't waste it on this.....

Enjoyed a very good three course meal taking advantage of Restaurant Week in Santa Fe. Everything we tried was tasty and presented nicely. Portions were plentiful, especially deserts, which were awesome. Service was spot on. Will definitely retun with friends.
