After visiting the New Mexico State Capitol, we noted the Bataan Memorial across it. After taking pictures of the Memorial, we went inside the building behind it to inquire about the museum/library. We could not find anybody at the ground floor of the building to ask about the other sections related to Bataan.

This rating therefore pertains only to the Bataan Memorial and does not include the Museum nor the Library. Note that on our way out of Santa Fe, NM to visit our next travel destination, we "accidentally" noticed the sign about Bataan Museum/Library. Perhaps we 'll visit it next time we 're in Santa Fe.

Suggestion: Travel maps of Santa Fe should mention that the Bataan Memorial is far/separate from the Bataan Museum/Library. Information and directions to these places should be made available to visitors.

Great museum that covers the history of the New Mexico National Guard/Militia from 1598 until today. Nice displays and friendly staff.

Nice displays about the Bataan Death March. Of the few remaining survivors, half are New Mexico residents. The museum's video about the death march of 76,000 American and Filipino Prisoners of War is powerful and moving. A memorial to the 200th and 510th Coast Artillery is located near the state capitol.

Free to attend, donations accepted.

It's advertised as being open on Saturdays. The sign at the front of the building says they're open on Saturdays. But, like at least one other location here in Santa Fe, that doesn't mean they actually are open. Ah well.
