We rented three rooms at the La Quinta in October and I gave specific direction to posting of reward points. The hotel did nothing. They didn't care. Poor customer service. Stay down the street but don't stay at La Quinta in Santa Fe

We stayed at this La Quinta for 4 nights during the Balloon Fiesta. Great location for shopping, restaurants and not far to Albuquerque. Rooms are comfortable not large but OK.
Service was good. Breakfast was your typical hotel fare, waffles, fruit, cereal, yogurt etc. The breakfast area is small. Wish they would enlarge it. The only other thing I wish they would work on is the pet area. Need a area with grass and it need to be kept CLEAN. Need a bag dispenser. I pick up after my dog but a lot of people don't . Maybe if they had bags they would. Didn't try the pool but it looked good.
Friendly people that work there.
We have stayed here before and will return again.

Stayed at this La Quinta near the end of October while visiting the Santa Fe area . The most significant problem we enountered was a moldy ceiling directly over the shower. There were several mold spots on the ceiling near the rear of the shower/tub. We didn't discover the mold until we were in the process of completing our daily grooming activities after our first evening in the hotel. We informed the housekeeping staff as well as the maintenance crew. There was no offer to move us to another room or to give us a reduction in our room rate. We also informed the clerk at the desk upon check out. The clerk apologized and stated the housekeeping staff should have informed the front desk.

The hotel was relatively clean with this exception. The room smelled fresh and the sheets were clean. The breakfast offered the usual fare of muffins, bagels, and bread with yogurt and hard boiled eggs. One other note, when we stopped at the hotel to check-in at a little after 5 pm (on a weekday) there was no one at the front desk. We ended up waiting for about 5 minutes for the clerk to come from another location in the hotel. He was responding to the telephone ringing which he proceeded to attend to prior to visiting with us and another group in the hotel lobby waiting to book a room.

A couple of recommendations if you stay at the hotel - try The Flying Tortilla restaurant directly adjacent to the hotel if you have an opportunity. The restaurant offers a 10% discount for hotel guests and the food was delicious. Also, visit the Geneva Chavez community center if you need a fitness workout -- it's a huge facility that's about a 5 minute drive from the hotel. It only costs $5 to visit has all kinds of equipment, a huge aquatic area, indoor hockey rink, and several types of exercise classes throughout the day.

The "historic" santa fe area is about 6 miles away. The hotel is great for those wishing to stay near the freeway. Property is older, but in very good shape, freshly painted, room was clean, bathroom well appointed, etc. Breakfast was typical LQ quality with waffel maker, fruits, etc, etc. Overall, nice experience, but don't stay here if you want to be within walking distance to the plaza. It's too far away.

I stayed here because it was the location of a business conference. The rates were reasonable and Sante Fe's rates, in general, are obnoxious due to the resort mentality. As far as lodging chains go, this particular one is a good example of the La Quinta brand. The rooms were fine, the linens were as supplied by the chain and the public areas were somewhat crowded for the size group stationed there.

In the breakfast area, however, I was appalled by the cost of the meal, the poor training and attitude, motivation of the staff and the price. I know it's boring serving the same buffet over and over again, but hospitality requires hiding that and pretending you care.

The manager is a gem, the front desk staff go out of their way to make you happy and my housekeepers did an excellent job deserving every bit of their tip.
