The "historic" santa fe area is about 6 miles away. The hotel is great for those wishing to stay near the freeway. Property is older, but in very good shape, freshly painted, room was clean, bathroom well appointed, etc. Breakfast was typical LQ quality with waffel maker, fruits, etc, etc. Overall, nice experience, but don't stay here if you want to be within walking distance to the plaza. It's too far away.

I stayed here because it was the location of a business conference. The rates were reasonable and Sante Fe's rates, in general, are obnoxious due to the resort mentality. As far as lodging chains go, this particular one is a good example of the La Quinta brand. The rooms were fine, the linens were as supplied by the chain and the public areas were somewhat crowded for the size group stationed there.

In the breakfast area, however, I was appalled by the cost of the meal, the poor training and attitude, motivation of the staff and the price. I know it's boring serving the same buffet over and over again, but hospitality requires hiding that and pretending you care.

The manager is a gem, the front desk staff go out of their way to make you happy and my housekeepers did an excellent job deserving every bit of their tip.

Far from plaza and DIRTY, the bathroom floor had mud on it. The carpet felt like I was going to get a fungus on my feet if I walked on it and it was really dirty. The air conditioner was really loud and I didn't sleep because of it. I woke up and every time it turned on and off. The beds in the room were supposed to be 2 queens but they were full beds which made for a tight sleeping situation with my husband.

We saw this hotel in a map, and it was close to "Santa Fe Plaza" which we assumed was downtown. Actually Santa Fe Plaza is a mall. It's a pretty painless 5 mile drive to the cool part of SFE.

The room was just fine, very good for the price actually, breakfast was better than normal, but, it was crowded and we had to wait quite a bit. Nothing remarkable, either positive nor negative.

It is close to the highway (I-25) which makes getting into and out of town pretty painless.

Internet was free and worked A-OK.
