A last minute change of plans and weather prompted my sister and I to go on priceline for a room. We got this hotel. When we arrived, there were plenty of rooms available and I opted for the second floor and a great balcony. The rooms were dated and the front desk person said we could only have a room with one bed - not very customer friendly. Later, there was a woman, who helped us with our freezer jugs, letting us use their larger freezer to re-freeze for camping the next couple of days. Breakfast was plentiful, with hot waffles etc. Pool was outside and too cool for us to use. No hot tub. TV and beds are a bit dated, but not bad.

We got in late, went to our room and one bed was on top of the other... I guess they forgot that our room was under repair. Had to drive to sister hotel at midnight...

Walked in without a reservation, got a very nice room on 2nd floor w/private balcony, very comfy queen bed, loveseat, desk and chair for $40 w/AARP discount - will certainly consider staying there again.
There were water stains on the ceilings in the room and the hallway upstairs. The upstairs hallway ceiling height was also kinda short, although no issue for me

Room Tip: I usually prefer ground floor rooms, but for the private balcony, 2nd floor was worth the trouble

I was concerned about this motel after reading some of the previous reviews but having mostly good experience with Choice Hotels we followed through with our reservation. The gentelman working the desk when we arrived was doing the job of two people. Attempting to check in new arrivals and answering the phone at the same time. we had a room on the first floor and found some tiles in the hallway were cracked but the hallways were clean. Our room was a standard queen bed room, with a refrigerator, and coffee maker. The bed was comfortable, lighting was adequate. Water pressure in the bathroom was good. The breakfast consisted of juice, coffee, cereals, waffle maker, sausage, eggs, and biscuits.
The pool was cold but felt good after hiking most of the day.

We paid $55 which I thought was pretty good. As other reviewers said, this place is older. It needs some maintenance--broken floor tiles here and there, etc. Our room was on the ground floor with sliding door facing the parking lot. The ceiling light had no shade on it--merely a spiral bulb hanging from a wire. The thermostat was smaller than the electrical box, so you could see the wires. The screen for the sliding door had holes in it like a dog had torn it up. And the sliding door was hard to open. Otherwise, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was fairly quiet and worked well, etc. There were quite a few eating places within a few blocks and Walmart is just a few blocks away. The motel is about 3 miles from the historic downtown. The breakfast was good--better than most budget motels, in my opinion.

I was regretting having to spend the night in Santa Fe thinking we wouldn't be able to find a hotel at a reasonable rate and was delighted with the first floor room in this hotel. The front desk was helpful at check in with room selection and pricing.

Room was great, well appointed and clean with very comfortable beds and pillows. Furnishings and linens up to date. Breakfast was fine, I will definately check out Quality Inns for future trips.

Room Tip: Room was clean, well appointed and seemed newly remodeled.

My fiancé and I have been staying with the Choice Hotel line for five years now and have never had a bad experience until staying at this Quality Inn. The hotel was old and run down. The room was filthy-including blood stained sheets, pillows with in unidentifiable black smudges on them, bath towels covered in someone else's hair, and a carpet so filthy it turned out feet and socks black from walking on it (less than 2 hrs). It was so terrible we only stayed until 10 pm. We decided to leave after getting ice and passing by several open doors with marijuana smoke bellowing out, at which point we couldn't take it anymore. When we left, the staff was rude and did not appologize for our terrible experience but rather insisted on charging us for the whole night whether we left or stayed.
