The suites are spacious, clean and thoughtfully equipped. The staff is friendly and wonderfully helpful. The hotel runs a free shuttle service to ferry people around. WiFi internet access is free and is stable and reasonably fast. If you are looking for a no-frills (meaning, no onsight restaurant, no room service - BUT you can buy in your own food and cook) hotel, this is the place for you. GREAT value.

Myself and three girlfriends from high school decieded to get together for a long memorial day weekend together. Fort Marcy suites was the perfect choice for us. We were looking at renting a home for the weekend when we saw this deal. The price was so much lower than a home rental that we decieded we would go with it. The three room condo was perfect for us. All three bedrooms were upstairs. Two rooms had walk out balconies. One had two twin beds, the other had a queen bed. The third room with a queen bed had a private bathroom. The main floor was perfect for socializing. We used the keva (fireplace) one night which was a pretty neat feature. (Since it wasn't winter the hotel didn't have a full bundle of firewood available and just gave us some stray wood and matches.) The kitchen had all the supplies needed to make a meal and Albertsons (a grocery store) was within a mile of our location. Our suite was within walking distance to the plaza and several places to eat. There wasn't any maid service during our stay but we had planned on that and it wasn't necessary for us. The pool and hot tub were small and indoors but well maintained. We went to the hot tub everyday. On one day of the five we were there it looked really dirty but the next day it was fine so it because of a visitor right before us on that day. The wi-fi was a bit slow and hard to connect to but we were there for pleasure so it wasn't a problem for us.

I rated Ft. Marcy Suites as average and I think that is exactly appropriate. It is not at all fancy. It is basic accomodations. The plus side: 2 bedrooms/2 full baths; clean; decent sheets and towels; fully loaded kitchen - stove, fridge, microwave, dinnerware, glassware, utencils, pots/pans/cookware, salt/pepper; fireplace. Location was good but not great...about 5 -7 minutes to town square by car. Downside: I'm glad we rented a car. The unit was on top of a hill which was great for watching over the valley and the sunset but it would not have been nice for trudging uphill in the middle of the day when it was 85 degrees in the shade. Also, we were promised a unit w/ a queen, 2 twiins and a sofa bed. That did not work out. We had to share a king in place of the 2 twins. We just dealt with it.

The desk staff was very accomodating with requests for additional sheets/towels and pepper (smile).

All in all we had a good stay in #55 at the top of the hill. The kitchen needs an upgrade. Flourescent light over the sink is blown and needs replacement. The oven control is marked with magic marker. Couldn't tell when it was on or off. It has push button controls and I'd say is circa1970? Fridge is new. DW is on angle from being mashed next to a screwed on cabinet (painted white) front face to hide some sort of tank - maybe hot water? Master bedroom has a bit of mold growing behind the sink. Should be easy to handle. Otherwise clean and spanky.
Used laundry in the office area and was fine. Went down to see the hot tub and noticed that the water sits about four inches below a black nasty line. Yuck. We thought better of it and headed back to our room.
Close proximity to city if you're in shape and like the hike.
Directly across from this unit is the entrance to a state park. It has cars coming and going. Be sure to have a buddy when you hike. Foir five nights we had a interesting Nick Nolte looking guy pull in around 7PM in his Mercedes wagon w/ bike gear on the back and crawl into his back seat to sleep over. Around 7AM when we opened the shades, he was emerging. Must be a story here!
If your unit has a fireplace you will need to buy wood and gather kindling.
All in all had a very good time.
Be sure go down the hill to hit Pasquale's and Cayote Cafe (rooftop!!) for great food.

As previous reviewers have mentioned, Fort Marcy is not a hotel. It is individually owned condos that caters to families and groups who want the privacy of renting a fully equipped place for few days. There’s no housekeeping, no breakfast, or a concierge that will assist/guide you through your stay.

However, as we have been to Santa Fe several times, this was not an issue for us, and neither did the lack of hotel-like amenities. But what bothered us was the front desk staff and manager who seriously lacked sense of customer service.

I’d called few weeks before we’d arrived to book a specific condo, which was recommended by a Trip Advisor reviewer. I spoke to Jason, the front desk manager who’d assured me that we would be able have the requested condo. However, when we arrived at the property, the front desk clerk told us that there was no such request on my reservation, and as there were only 2 condos left, we didn’t have much of a choice.

The condo we’d stayed in was nice enough, but it had only 2 bathrooms versus 2 ½ as in the condo I’d requested. And as there were 5 people in our group, having the extra ½ bathroom would have been nice.

Even during our stay and afterwards when we had questions about our bill, I was disappointed how unfriendly and unhelpful the staff was in resolving the matter.

I recently returned from a 'girls' weekend' in Santa Fe. The Fort Marcy Hotel Suites was a wonderful surprise--all the comforts of renting a fully equipped condo with a kitchen, balcony, porch, and kiva fireplace for the price of a hotel room. This is a great and affordable place to stay if you are coming to Santa Fe with your children or a group of friends. Most of the condos have excellent views of the mountains and the condos are situated right next to Old Fort Marcy Park and Hillside Park so there is plenty of open, natural space nearby for walking. The condo was very clean and tastefully decorated. The front desk staff helpfully suggested fun places to have dinner and go out. You can walk to the Old Town via Hillside Park if you're wearing comfortable shoes, and the suites are a short drive to Ten Thousand Waves Spa. This is an excellent place to stay in Santa Fe!
