“Re Loretto Inn - quiet, comfy, charming, romantic, great location”
Reviewed 10 December 2010

First visit to Santa Fe and stayed at the Loretto Inn. Highly recommend the hotel. Some have complained about size of rooms. But what they lack in size, they make up in charm. Rooms are nicely decorated, and each comes with a very big balcony with table/chairs. Comfy beds. Hotel rooms are incredibly quiet! - a big plus. Hotel is next to beautiful church, and right in the center of town. Restaurant food/service very good. Concerg is top notch and very helpful. The hotel is not inexpensive - resort fee/daily parking fee etc. But if you are looking for a charming, romantic, quiet comfortable hotel right in the center of SF, I'd highly recommend Loretto.

The Inn and Spa at Loretto will be my destination hotel and spa, when I return to Santa Fe! I would highly reccomend this hotel. My travel agent Donna Cicolloni of Astro Travel, www.travelleaders.com, found this gem and was I so happy to be here.
Lisa Chadwick, the hotels concierge, was always smiling, and so helpful with any questions, regarding restraurants, spa services, places I would like to see and, suggestionstht made me feel as if I was home asking a friend for advice. I never felt rushed, and from the Santa Fe cooking class, to my private tour to "Chimayo", my experience was top notch.

The front desk, Chelse, Roxanne, Josephene, Rockwell, and Maria, Maria connected me to the SantaFe Walkabouts, a tour company, George Mally and his wife Sue, have a a knowledge and expertise show you outside of downtown, bring your camera, the landscape is breathtaking and you will never see any thing like it . From backpacking, to the mountains of Geogia O'Keefe painting to downhill skiing, or a relaxing tour of the historical Native American Reservations, that tour was one of my favorite "things to do", but I have to come back to experience the other thousands of "things to do", and see! The Lensic Theatre, Santa Fe Opera, Chapel at Loretto, and on and on. The manager of the Inn and owner have chosen and trained their staff well. Thank you to all and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Sincerely, Carol O'Donnell
The Luminaria restaurant, the food was outstanding, their tortilla soup, a specialty. The service staff in dining room also was very well trained, and again, made the guests, feel at home.
The Spa, yummy, and the receptionist went out of thier to find a place or an appointment that would suit my needs, which could change on a dime in Santa Fe, the staff again, lovely, personable, and massage, manicure, pedicure, facials, and surroundings were very serene, and relaxing, leaving with a warm heart and a smile.

So, I only wanted you to know what a friendly, cozy, delicious, place to stay.

First.... I have never written a review about a hotel, but this hotel is worthy of a wonderful review. My husband and I stayed 4 nights and it was perfect. We had a smaller room the first night, because we had gotten into Santa Fe a day earlier and that was the only room the hotel had available. The following three nights we were put in a larger room, in one of the suites. The smaller room was wonderful, as well as the suite. The price for both rooms was fantastic. The service is what will keep us coming back. From the minute we pulled up to valet park the car with Matt, and then when we got to the front desk to check in with Roxanne, and then the service that we got with our room was just exceptional, thanks to Diego. I read all the other reviews that other people had written before we booked this hotel, and saw that so many people are just searching for something to complain about. This hotel is a first class hotel, with incredible service, a wonderful restaraunt and the staff is really the best. You always need to make sure before you book a room at a resort hotel that the resort fee and valet fee, etc...are included or not in the overall price of the room. What people do a lot of times is they do not research all of the charges, but if you will do this, then you will know what you are getting up front and will not be surprised. We knew exactly what we were getting and what we were getting charged for, so the stay was the best. This was one of the best stays that we have had in a hotel, and we have been blessed to have experienced some really nice hotels in the past. Hope this review helps.

I came to the inn as my friend was getting married in Sante Fe. After making a reservation, the hotel sent a nice Sante Fe tourism book for us to review before we got to town. Due to a delayed flight into Albuquerque, we arrived at the hotel much later than planned in the evening. When we arrived at the hotel it took about 5 minutes for the valet to come get our car. When my husband went to get our laptop out of the trunk of our rental car, the valet said 'thanks for grabbing your luggage, i just got some people that insist on getting help with theirs"
Part of the brochure said the hotel had a reverse happy hour, which was perfect for us as we missed dinner. When we asked the front desk about it, he said he had no idea where it was or if they were serving. It happened to be located in the main room right off the entryway.
Next day, while sightseeing we expected the maids to clean the room, but nothing all day. They came by at 4 in the afternoon, while we were getting ready for the wedding. We asked them to come back in about an hour. But apparently they did not understand and our room was never cleaned.
The next morning, we asked for a good place to eat breakfast in the plaza. The lady first suggessted their restaurant, understandable, but as we ate their the evening before, we wanted to try a different place. She finally named a place after saying she did not know too much about the area. We walked down there and found it was closed.
The room was ok, a little shabby in some ways. But the balcony with the chair and tables was very nice.
Overall, it was a nice location, but i would not stay there again. For the money spent, i think we could have gotten a better overall hotel.

Definition of INCREDIBLE: too extraordinary and improbable to be believed.

And this is exactly how we felt both with our stay at the Inn and Spa at Loretto and the Aspen leaves and trees we found in the Santa Fe highlands. It was our second trip in the fall to this magnificent city and we again stayed at the Inn and Spa at Loretto (formerly the Hotel Loretto). The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating!

Last year we went to Santa Fe for the hot air balloon festival and this year for the foliage. To be honest, both were equally amazing in very different ways. We were told that this year was the best in many and that it was as good as it gets. I would have to agree, we have photos of the golden glow forests that are almost supernatural. These photographs will have a place in our home for many generations to come. Absolutely beautiful!!

There are a few surprises that come with a city being situated at almost 7,500 feet above sea level but none like the feeling of sleeping in the clouds. Or on a cloud for that matter! And that is what we felt like every morning and every evening when we got into the most heavenly bed you can imagine. No kidding, the pillows are so soft yet supportive there is only one word to describe them. Without doubt one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on, ever.

Chile peppers are so ingrained in this city that you cannot really go to any restaurant and not find them on the menu or made into the dishes themselves. Thank god for that because it is a special experience and one not to be missed. Neither is the Huevos Rancheros at the hotel restaurant, Luminaria. We ate at this restaurant breakfast lunch and dinner and loved every meal. Carlos remembered us from last year and he and his helpers served us in grand style. Everything we asked for was delivered with a smile and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend this restaurant. We are thinking of getting married here and having our reception on the outside terrace because it is dreamy beautiful at night with all the candle lanterns lit up. It is also happens to be directly next to the Chapel Loretto and part of the hotel. Does it get any better? Well maybe, but not much.

I realize I am dribbling on and must wrap this up but it would not be complete with mentioning Rose and her adorable shop Faircloth Ltd. Last year my Finance found this shop in the hotel where she found THE most incredible collection of antique fabrics, linens and furniture. This year she was still there and the shop looked just as amazing as we remembered. The really cool part is that all of these items are made by hand! Not only is the shop eye candy but the proprietor is the sweetest thing you ever met. Again, only one word to sum this shop up.

We cannot wait to get back to Santa Fe and the Hotel Loretto. And yes, there is only one word that comes to mind as we settle back in to our seemingly normal lives and think about out last trip to Santa Fe. Incredible!!

This hotel was recommended by a friend who had been here many years ago. Things must have changed. We were very disappointed. The rooms seemed dated and a bit shabby. As I am writing we have been waiting 20 min. for a bellman. We had to walk outside one through a concrete patio on the 4th fllor to reach the hallway to our room. The location is great. Very close to the plaza. The best part of our experience was the lovely concierge

The Inn and Spa at Loretto provided a wonderful experience during our recent vacation. The hotel was beautiful, the restaurant was terrific, the front desk personnel were extremely helpful, and the concierge was incredible with making our dinner reservations and providing directions. The hotel is also located in a beautiful part of the country and I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Santa Fe.
